If any of you are like me, you've wandered over to ITAT on occasion when you needed a good laugh. I found a thread there titled, "How long to overtake bammer?" which, as you might expect, was basically a thread asking Aubs how long they thought before their program became the cream of the crop in the state and conference. I quoted some responses below because I thought they were pretty hilarious. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

WarEagle57:
quote:

as soon as they get the death penalty. until then i think it's impossible. blatant cheating unpunished and a very good coach is a deadly combination.

AU03Cobrafan:
quote:

SPUAT isn't all that special if you ask me. SPUAT beat an UT team that had an injured kicker that missed two field goals, squeaked by an Auburn because they have zero depth on defense, and beat a Texas team that lost their STAR starting senor QB at the start of the game. Bammer has tons of talent due to tons of cheating but past that I don't get the praise because the coaching is very mediocre.

If Auburn has a defense this year they will beat Bammer by two TDs.

AUColorado
quote:

It will be easier for them to fall as now they have waltzed into a NC with relative ease (no holding penalties all year and knocking the monumental peice of UT out early in the game and an absolute wet kiss love affair with the national media).

To be honest, they probably had the easiest walk I've seen in a long time and maybe ever into the championship. Remember they struggled mightily with us, Texas hit them in the mouth and even almost came back with a green QB.

As usual the Tide had a ton of luck to get there in two years. Has Satan made great strides? YES. Were they THAT good last year? NO We have made great strides as well and it won't be so easy for them as it has been now that the ship is seemingly righted.

TigerJuice:
quote:

In response to:
"They have 13 titles and we have 1. They have 7 since our last.

I doubt we'll ever overtake Alabama."

THE PAST does not have to = THE FUTURE !!

I can't believe UAT has AU fans buying into the 13 NC . They DON"T have that many ! ESPN verified.

JJforAU:
quote:

Did you watch the Auburn vs Bama game this year? We are not that far behind as you would think. We will compete this year for the west, mark it down. We will go into Bryant Denny with no worse than 10-1 record and it wouldn't surprise me if we are undefeated.

HSVAUTiger:
quote:

Look at the history, Auburn is only what 8 games behind in the series.
They usually only beat Auburn when we are down.
To have the attitude some have, why even bother if you don't think we will suceed.
Saban is like an egg, strong until the pressure builds the he will shatter all over the place,
Injuries, defections, penalties, and a few losses will send them down very quick.

I raise you one SBurton. I've got other gems from him saved but this is my personal favorite.

OK you can try and pick me a part if you like that good.
Lest look at what you just said OK.
Let me ask you where Brodie at right now is he in the NFL! yes or no and not to say his going to be the starter this year not to bad for a Bad QB from Alabama.
OL line it dose matter a lot they don’t have to be great players to be good, I think it all about the timing and working together as a unit knowing what each is doing it a big key.
I don’t care what you say JPW dint get any help from Coach Applewhite last year, He did make some bad plays last year, but his a year older other year in the OF. So I feel like he become a much better leader because he know what his doing a whole lot more this year than he did last year.
The running game is a lot better than last year as will we get some help with the new kids coming in.
Lest not talk about the bad play calling from Applewhite OK I don’t think that help us out every much as well.
The kicking game is going to be strong this year it was week last year as we all know putting suck, kick off not to good as well.
But our return team is going to be great this year it going to be fun to watch JJ.
But lets not talk bad about our players they don’t need to hear any thing like that. We need to help build them up not and not try to make them feel like they can’t do the job and win every game.
That is the POINT I am trying to make

Why does this surprise you? Most people don't know shite about football. Easiest time to the title? Alabama beat more top ten, 15 and 25 teams than any other SEC team in the BCS era. The year Auburn went undefeated, the SEC sent only 6 teams to bowl games and they finished with a .500 record. Five SEC teams had a losing record. In other words, the SEC was at one of its worse points in the BCS era when Auburn went undefeated.

Ugh. ITAT is full of idiots. Most auburn fans I know can't stand that board just because of the way they act. Thank God most auburn fans aren't like that.

ITAT = more homers than Josh Hamilton in the home run derby

Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week.

The Auburn fans on this board are level headed, so why bring that garbage from ITAT here? We know they are way out in left field on there.

In All Fairness to The Barners..EVERY Fan base has these Rantards posting like this. Just like the sterotyping of Rival's fan bases which all of us do. Some of it is Funny some not funny.

It's all part of the fun on here. I don't take anyone's comments attacking another very seriously it's all Opinions and Jest.

BUT....Don't let any OOC fan come on here and talk shite to our "Brethren" Then the fight begins! LOL

There are plenty of reasonable responses from normal AU fans in that thread.

Thats actually the correct answer.

They may not be cheating now but its only a matter of time before Alum and "friends of the program" start to tinker. They always do at Bama. They cant help themselves.

Let Saban lose a game to Auburn or need a little help getting a big time recruit. It will happen. They think they are above being caught.

The coach may have changed but the Alum and supporters are the same.

Its just little brother syndrome. State and Southern Miss act the same way.

But losing 6 in a row must have been god awful. I'd kill myself if State beat us for that long. Half a year is terrible already

Would this not go both ways. Theres not many more schools more passionate about football and winning. Now they havent always demanded NC's but they do demand that they defeat their in-state rival.

I dont know how far Auburn will push for success over Bama, but we saw some amazing recruiting from them this past season. A couple more years of losing to Saban, I wouldnt be suprised if Bama isnt the cheating school in the "Heart of Dixie"

I'm sure Ray Ray Rodman is a bastion of information on the Alabama program. OF course, by information, I mean jealousy.

This guy has a pretty bad memory if you ask me. He can't even remember things that happened a mere 2 years ago.
