Why would a CEO be tight on money when it isn't coming out of his salary? In every organization the leaders have to allocate the money with an understanding that resources are not unlimited...

Don't even have to take business 101 to understand that

I can remember a 0* New Mexico State QB that transferred to Vandy last season. It seems like he did ok.

I don’t really watch the numbers, but I was thinking 22 was excessive. 40? Yikes.

Auburn had 26 players last year. Some notable other teams in 2025.

Oklahoma - 37
Miss State - 34
Arkansas - 39
Ole Miss - 28
Alabama - 24

408 total Transfers from the SEC. 25.5 per team is the average.

Also they may be using the portal to get more money out of Auburn, unless they’ve actually transferred.

I think this is your answer. It sucks to lose guys especially the two CB’s but most AU people are in a wait-and-see stage, to see if this is a negotiation tactic or if they are really leaving.

Freeze was into star chasing and over-paying guys just hoping they would miraculously perform without any real coaching. Golesh schedules his time down to the minute every day. The difference is stark. I’m willing to see how coaching and discipline and development and “fit” works for a change because Freeze’s way sure as hell didn’t work.

Indiana and Oklahoma both lost more than 30 players to the portal last year and both made the playoffs. I’m willing to gamble with the big Russian this time. Hoping it works out.

No he wasn't. He was probably getting about 400,000 maybe.

He was a highly sought after WR coming out of HS. Do you honestly think he signed for $400K?

There really is no good time for the transfer portal but at least there is only one per year at the present time.

I agree that any team may in fact bring more better players in than they lose so no need to panic till it’s done.

Yes. On3 has him valued at 473,000.

He was a 4 star.

I’m pretty sure the On3 evaluations aren’t generally accurate, and are just for clicks. We’re talking about them right now so I guess it’s working.

I'm not.

There is one way to get better in the SEC. Go get great players and develop them.

Why is Golesh trying to reinvent the wheel? He was an 8-4 coach in the AAC and he is bringing an AAC mentality to Auburn at the moment.

Not precise, but normally in the general ballpark.

Exactly. It's a shame NIL information isn't public. Every other professional sports league is, but we're still pretending CFB isn't a professional sport.

Youre gonna see players like Cam Coleman make 1.8 million.
You should let him go. Spend the money on OL instead and you might need to pick up a QB. It’s unlikely year one you’re a contender under a new coach and getting pieces in place for 2027 would make sense.

I’d look at raiding JMU’s roster. Outmanned and getting beat down nobody on that team quit playing hard.

Damn. I knew we had to bring in some after what we lost when Nick left but I didn’t know it was that many.

I knew kids have no real loyalty anymore, but I didn’t know it was worse than I thought.

That is their valuation. That is not the number.

On3 has Pavia tied at 9th with Raiola and Sayin. Do you think Vandy was paying him $2.5M?

ETA Hell, On3 had Arch listed as the top NIL earner when he wasn't getting a penny from NIL yet.

That's Pavia's estimated net worth.

AKA third party deals

Perry also has third party deals and his number is still around 473,000.

BS. That is On3's valuation.

LINK

It clearly states, top right, "NIL Valuation /
Roster Value".

Coach Ghoulish is considering buying a minority ownership stake in JMU. Anything to help the russians gather intel.

NIL Value, on the other hand, measures an athlete’s market value in terms of licensing and sponsorship. This value is influenced by on-field performance, media exposure, and social media presence. Typically, only elite national athletes or those with a strong social media following generate significant revenue from brand marketing compared to their Roster Value.

and there you have it. It is not what the player is getting. It is what On3 considers the players value is to the team. Unless a player flat out tells On3 what they are making, On3 is just guessing.

Again, do you think Vandy was paying top 9 money for Pavia?
