I was a fan of the Kiffin hire.

I don't think Butch is a terrible idea either. He's proven he's far from ready to be a head coach in the SEC. And last year, he and his team both just quit. It was ugly.

But he knows offense, and he's been pretty good at it everywhere he's been. He produced Tennessee's highest scoring offense ever in 2016. As long as he only has offensive analyst duties, I think Bama will appreciate his input. He doesn't have to recruit. He doesn't have to manage. He doesn't have to come up with shitty motivational ideas. All he has to do is watch game film for Saban while UT pays him a ton of money.

I loved having Kiffin. He was and is an offensive genius.

I don't really think Butch is a bad idea, I just don't see what exactly he brings. But I mean, it's an analyst role, so it isn't exactly a big deal either way.
