A lot of posters questioned how Brian Kelly would recruit Southern kids

Seems like he and the staff have made a very good impression on at least Harold Perkins' mother, whether they get the kid or not:

It is amazing to me how angry these other fans are over the LSU coach mixing up with recruits on an official visit

Thank God - I was concerned we wouldn't be able to see Brian gyrating on young men for years to come with all of the negative attention he was getting.

Not sure if you remember it or not but there was a narrative here that Kelly wouldn't fit in at LSU because he was an aloof Yankee arsehole.
Seems like that's being shot all to hell here in the early going but he still has to win the games.

Ain’t nobody angry, and I’m not sure how you could even mistake what you see for anger.
We are quite literally laughing. Just like that recruit’s mom and the rest of the world.

247 Sports has them at #9 currently in their combined transfer+recruits rankings.
I'll take that in a transition year where basically no one from 2020 is here anymore.

Seriously? Next year, no doubt. I mean, if we close with Matthews, Perkins, and Citizen on Wednesday, we finish in the Top 10 this year. I honestly would be shocked if that happens, but we should still finish Top 15. Coaching changes absolutely suck for recruiting, but this is not nearly the disaster it could have been.
The better question would be when do we expect to finish in the Top 5. Depending on how the in-state ranking fall out, I would hope Kelly accomplishes that next year.

She seemed kind of down on LSU while Orgeron was there and it seems Kelly has really changed the place for the better, at least to her point of view.
