I am not a Bama fan, but I aint stupid either, TR is a great RB... here is a good read on his chances for the Heisman...Here is the link:
LINK
How a player fares in big games has always been one of the main components I take into account when filling out my ballot.
The other is how a player fares against top competition, and in the case of these three players since they’re all offensive players, how they’ve fared against the toughest defenses.
Richardson blows the other two away in that category.
The Alabama junior running back has faced five teams ranked in the top-25 nationally in total defense. Weeden has faced one and Luck none.
In those five games, Richardson is averaging 105 rushing yards and has scored six touchdowns.
If you count the top 50 teams nationally in total defense, Richardson has faced seven, while Weeden and Luck have each faced one.
Everybody has his or her own method of voting for the Heisman Trophy, but the caliber of defense a player is going against on a weekly basis shouldn’t be left out of the equation.
Here’s something else that Richardson has going for him: He gets a lot of his yards on his own.
Sure, his offensive line is outstanding, but Richardson has gained 595 of his 1,205 yards after contact this season. He had 127 yards last week against Mississippi State, and 40 of those yards came after contact. It was the sixth straight game that Richardson had gained at least 40 yards after contact, and all six were SEC games.

His only black eye this year is his 4th quarter and OT results against LSU

Oregon's not in the top 25 in defensive rankings.

I like Trent R. he's a train, but I just don't see them giving it to another Bama Running Back. They don't like the SEC that much.

Thanks for the read.It blows my mind sometimes how they continually give it to Trent up the middle against a stacked D.But I pay to watch games, not get paid to call plays.

Well you know how it works. Every now and then he bust one up the gut for 10+ yds. Doing this draws the 'D' into the middle of the field, then BAM you run it outside with Lacy and No one's home to cover but a Corner that weighs 40 lbs less
Running it up the gut is a necessary evil. You need it, and you need a Back who can do it even if it's 3-4 yds at a time.

Yep and when it happens everyone's like "WHY DIDN'T HE JUST GO OUTSIDE!"
Now I'm not trying to derail here and start a fire, but just to give an example.
LSU vs Bama
2nd and Goal about 2-3 yds from the endzone.
LSU attempts to run Ware up the middle. Bama 'D' draws in close.
3rd and Goal - Bama 'D' is drawn in real close - But did Les forget the Outside Race to the edge Call? No he wanted to score a TD up the gut to prove a point and failed.
They could have easily set up in the I, faked up the middle pitched to the outside and let Ford/Blue have a foot race to the TD Cone on the other end of the field. They could have at least gained a yard and maybe fallen forward for a TD or at least reached for it, Ball crosses plain = TD. Of course we'll never know and it doesn’t matter now but it applies to what were talking about.
You run up the gut to set up other runs to the outside. Sometimes a Coaches pride gets in the way and the call to the outside doesn't come up. It defies Logic, or at least our Logic and were left sitting at home wondering WTH the Coach was thinking.
Texas A&M vs OU 2010 ring a bell? Goal line stand more than twice b/c OU wanted to ram it down A&M's throat, but couldn't. OU Lost that game.

1. The Heisman is a joke.
2. Richardson deserves it more this year than Ingram did last yr. He's faced a much tougher road than anyone and performed well. It'll be even more of a joke if Luck or the OkieState qb take it.
edit: I'm a Richardson fan. Total badass, I wish we could have got him.

I grew up in Oregon so I may be a little partial. I thought Luck played very average, of course the announcer was slobbering over his every positive move and when something bad happened (int) it was never Luck's fault.
