Marshall works for a fan site (and before that the ath dept)... hurt works for a (supposedly) legit news organization. Big difference.

Not really. But, since you bring it up, Hurt is clever and has valuable insights on football. Marshall is a loss of brain cells. Which explains why Marshall once worked in the 'Barn athletic dept.

I had no idea Cecil rustled Auburn fans this much. Is there a reason or is it just because he writes for the Tuscaloosa News?

Only read his columns a few times (nothing special). He panders to the Athletic Dept and we found out why during the NCAA Logan Young investigation. There are certain lines you do not cross if you are a reporter and have the trust of the readers. When you cross that line, you lose any credibility. In today's environment, he would have been gone. That might explain why he is still at the T-TOWN News.

Nailed it...More respected than anything they can trot out from the plains. As far as pandering... Pot meet kettle, yellow teeth Marshall was the biggest suckup and enabler for years in that corrupt down home cesspool of an athletic department at the barn.
