and did I mention Columbia, SC? Pretty north compared to parts of Arkansas
**upvoted because HRV already has me rustled on page 1.

Fayetteville AR sits "as far South" to Columbia SC as Winston-Salem NC does. there is no place in Arkansas that sits lower on a map than Charleston SC & the Lowcountry, either.

Nashville, Lexington and the outsiders in Missouri are the only SEC campuses above Fayetteville AR by degrees North.

Being "Southern" is more a state of mind than geography. Arkansas is the mid-west.

Just kidding. Arkansas is more southern than 80% of Texas...anything west of San Antonio is categorially not the south and almost anything 50 miles west of Houston. Dallas is much more like Detroit and Chicago than it is Atlanta or Charlotte or Nashville. Houston is solidly southern.

Southeast Arkansas is as deep south as you can get. The geography of the state is very diverse.

The delta region down by Lake Village-Dumas-Greenville, MS feels like a different state than even the Little Rock area. Arkansas is really gorgeous as far as scenery in a lot of areas.

Since it's called the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry, wouldn't the Deep South be the category for which schools apply (to include Ole Miss & Arkansas) and the "Oldest" would qualify which rivalry is truly the Deep South's Oldest?

Ole Miss vs Arkansas started in 1908
UGA vs Auburn started in 1892

I'm sure there are older rivalries in the Deep South, but Ole Miss and Arkansas is not one of them. Suck it.

We admit we are not more south than LSU, but then again I believe WillyT and Magnum PI and Rohan and Steve Ensminger and the boys will verify our information in regard to Athens and Tuscaloosa and Etc,

Once again you are correct.

Maybe you are confusing Southern for redneck

Well, Harry, you seem to have forgotten that we're not the Southern Conference. We're the Southeastern Conference. I'd say that the defining borders of the conference ought to be the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. (We might make an exception for Texas A&M though.)

So what I am reading is that the vast majority of Georgia is further South than the vast majority of Arkansas, geographically.

Did you know that all of Georgia is located SOUTH of Tennessee??

Now how cool is that?

Pretty sure we rightfully own some water up there, or we just talking dry land?

Those good ole boys down in Hamilton, Bradley, and Polk counties are watching you.

Stay away from our water, or there'll be trouble.

Little Rock is where all geographical areas meet. You could come down from the mountains of North Arkansas then travel East of Little Rock and the land gets flat real quick.

Arkansas is a little bit of this and a little that. Little southern, little Oklahoma/Missouri-Cherokee-midwest and a little bit warlock weird.

It was so heated that fights broke out in the stadium after a controversial field goal in the early sixties. They wouldn't play each other for the next 20 years.

The scariest 20 minutes of my life occured the day I stopped at a interstate combination Taco Bell/KFC in rural Arkansas. Of the 10 or so people in that building I'm pretty sure I was the only one not on meth.

If we’re being honest, Arkansas is one of those places we all forget even exists.
