Why not? The money isn't that bad and Missouri is a much better cultural fit in the Big 10 anyway.

The SEC is the premier conference in college athletics, and the money is better than the Big 10. There’s literally no reason to leave for the Big 10. “Much better cultural fit” is also a stretch. Believe it or not, we don’t really fit in there either. Missouri is uniquely stuck in no-mans-land of not being northern or southern. Might as well be the outcasts in the best conference rather than the outcasts in the second best conference.

You really think the president of the university would rather be associated with LSU ole miss and Alabama over places like Michigan, Penn state, and Ohio State? Plus it’s a Midwestern conference which Missouri is more aligned to. It makes much more sense. Just like it makes sense that at least one team from Texas would be in the SEC.
