to be honest.. I have NEVER understood all of the 2004 auburn love... cept that they got left out of the NC game and people wanted to pat them on the back and tell them it would be ok.

What were the big differences between '03 AU and '04 AU?
I know LSU lost a TON of people in between '03-'04. AU seemed to return most. And that '03 LSU team RAILED AU.
While the '04 AU team needed 2 attempts at an extra point to beat a bad '04 LSU team at home.

The difference was a year and some different talent. A year means a lot in college football.
The biggest difference was that LSU did not show up every week. They got beat by a 8-5 team. When Au had their run, they run the table.
But the biggest reason I posted that is because it is impossible to prove either way. Different circumstances.

The 04 Auburn team needing a call to beat the Marcus Randall led 04 LSU team at home leads me to believe they wouldn't have stood a chance against 03 LSU.

The '03 LSU teams defense gave up 11 ppg and the offense averaged 33.9 ppg in 14 games...
The '04 Auburn teams defense gave up 11.3 ppg and the offense averaged 32.2 ppg in 13 games...
The '04 Auburn team was only able to score 10 points against LSU in a 10-9 win to a LSU team that gave up 17 ppg in 12 games...
So enlighten us on exactly how would the '04 AU team would beat the hell out of the '03 LSU team that gave up 6 pts less per game than the '04 LSU team did that the '04 AU team was only able to beat by 1 point...
