re: Culotta said that LSU has started a collective for NIL and they are just getting started

The best thing LSU fans can do is to support NIL crowdfunding sites like The Player Option where we can generate thousands of small dollar donations instead of relying on a few large dollar donations.
We will get killed if we have to have our boosters go toe to toe with colleges like A&M

I mean, Vitello was 29-27 and 12-18 in the SEC his first year at Tennessee. Comparing a coach in their 5th season at a school, to one in his first seems like a bad idea

LSU doesn’t have that kind of structure. Thank God for Gordon McKernon for stepping bc Boutte was heading for Bama.
I think LSU has to win different in NIL. We aren’t going to be able to go toe for with big fish compared to A&M or Texas. Guys like Gordon are great for LSU NIL, but their net worth wouldn’t even be a rounding error for major A&M or Texas boosters.
We need to be able to take advantage of the scale of our brand and use things like The Player Option where we can have a lot of people give a little instead of a few people give a lot.

Give me Schumann for DC.
For OC? I don’t know. Kendall Briles? Dan Mullen? Kenny Dillingham?

re: When we got Saban from Michigan State what stood out about him?
Posted by BRTiger2005 on 11/18/21 at 7:57 am
I worked in the AD when we hired him. One of the biggest driving forces was the fact that he had success both on the field and in recruiting at a school that wasn't the dominant team in their state.
The idea was if he could have success while having to battle the dominant state team in Michigan, how much more successful would he be in Louisiana with no in-state competition and a better recruiting talent base.

re: Word is Woodward is down to 4 candidates.

This is the dumbest update. First there’s no way to verify it. Second, that’s not how this process works, at all. Third, if I said “I heard a contrary source say it was down to 5 candidates” how could you prove me wrong, and what difference would it make?!?
re: Mel Tucker isn't a bad coach at all.

Talk to me in December. His schedule so far has been fluff and there have been close games in that fluff.
4 of his next 5 games are against ranked opponents, so if you’re Tucker’s agent, you’ve got 13 days to leverage LSU for a bigger deal at MSU or sign with LSU

You pay the buyout in installments over multiple years. We don’t pay all 17 million at once

That’s a no for me, dawg
Why? He’s going to be on the top of every NFL team’s wish list. He comes from a successful recruiting tree. And he’s got a lot of the qualities you look for in a HC: builds culture, highly organzied, hard worker, knows everything about every position group, etc.

He’s an elite recruiter. He thinks about the game in really modern and progressive ways.
I’ve always called him the Joe Brady of defense.
Having said all that, I would kill to have him as my DC and Nathaniel Hackett as my HC.

Nathaniel Hackett, Green Bay Offensive Coordinator.
Read the two articles linked above. My friend has been texting me about him non-stop, and I’ve joined the bandwagon.

I was shouting from the roof to hire Schumann as DC before we hired Pelini. Schumann probably isn’t set to be HC, but should 100% be our DC

It’s his son actually!

Nathaniel Hackett, Green Bay OC
Hackett should be option #1

His daily and weekly meetings have become legendary across various stops in college and the pros. Behind the scenes, Hackett has been the cultural energy and schematic force behind some of the biggest turnarounds in the sport. A desolate Syracuse football program became a record-setting Big East contender behind an unheralded quarterback who became an NFL draft pick. The Bills went from perpetual loser to 9–7, nudge-the-Patriots contention with Kyle Orton and EJ Manuel under center. Blake Bortles went from wayward Frisbee–throwing project to AFC title game participant, with his best numbers across the board coming under Hackett.

Hackett's football IQ came as advertised, especially after a two-year stint calling offensive plays for Jacksonville, but what has blown away LaFleur the most is the energy Hackett brings into the building every day. "He's our 'glue guy,' he puts it all together, man," LaFleur said. "He's one of the most organized guys, people, I've ever been around. He can do the job of about four people. He is a machine that can just knock out work. He's so intelligent, knows everything that's going on, whether it's in the O-line room, quarterback room, tight ends, running backs, doesn't matter.

Can we create a pool where you can buy a day on the calendar for $10, and whatever day the AD makes the official announcement, the person that owns that day wins the full pot?

I don’t think he was in the running. They asked him on the 104.5 morning show about Schumann and he all but said they weren’t looking at him.
re: A good article about potential HC Nathaniel Hackett

Can you have your friend confirm there have been talks? I know from people inside the AD he’s high on their list, but not sure if they’ve contacted his agent yet. Would be a good barometer of how far they are in the process.

I agree. I think whoever is advising Woodward on this one nailed it. Very out of the box idea, but could be a real home run.
Would love to see him paired with a DC like Glenn Schumann.
