All this arguing and they extended it to 62. I still say the football streak is better because of how many years it went. Softball plays so many games a year it’s a bit easier to have a dominant team pop up. OU actually lost an early season game last year to Baylor.

Comparison thru 9 games 23 and 24:

In 2023:
• 8-1 record
• 6 shutouts
• 10 home runs
• 73 runs scored
• 9 runs allowed
• 5 run-rule wins

In 2024:
• 9-0 record
• 6 shutouts
• 14 home runs
• 67 runs scored
• 7 runs allowed
• 4 run-rule wins

I've kept an eye on clempsons softball since it's inception, and it is super impressive how quickly they've catapulted to the upper end of the food chain...will be an even greater program as they get rolling.

I think you misinterpret my point which is that many of these schools in the SEC are actually poverty programs if not for the conference they are in. There is no doubt in my mind that the caliber of some opponents will be much more difficult than the losers from the Mid12. But the fans whose programs have never won dick and hide behind other program success chanting “SEC” are annoying as hell.
