When the hell did 3.6 become 8? Is there some new way of rounding up that I don't know about? Please keep your bullshite to yourself.

Not reading through the bullshite.....but if Malzan IS the real deal, why doesn't Arkansas open up it's vast wallet and bring him back to Arkansas.

Bring him back as what? OC? For Petrino?? I like Gus, but we have our own offensive wizard coaching our team. And there is simply no way Gus could have been our HC when Nut was fired. Too much political BS at the time

Doubt that happens. BUT, I do think Gus will get his own HC gig within the next few years. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see him on the Razorback sidelines someday.

Hey Ross - don't you think Fannin has been under-utilized in the first 2 games?

I think they are saving him for the big games to add another dimension.

Tennessee thought Kiffin was an Offensive genius too, until they played a Top 100 Defense.

We’re happy with what we have in Petrino because I believe he is the very best offensive mind in college football today. However, don't think for one minute that Gus won’t be a great head coach somewhere soon and I only hope it’s a team that plays against Ole Miss annually. Who knows, if Johnson leaves Vandy for a higher paying job, I think Malzahn would be a great fit there. Wouldn’t that be fun to watch, Rebels?

Will Gus ever be the Razorback head coach? Not likely because Nutt and his arse Clown Posse poisoned the minds of a lot of Hog Fans blaming Gus all the issues on the Hill. However, as most of us knew then and certainly the rest of the Hog Fans know now (except the Nutt shite eaters like WRT) Nutt was the back stabbing SOB who did everything he could to paint Gus in a bad light. There are still some anti-Gus Fans and I personally believe a lot of it is a NWA / Central Arkansas thing but that’s a different discussion. With all the shite that was going on with the Dork, Gus never said one word because he has too much class. The difference between Malzahn and Houston (Jim Baker) Nutt couldn’t be more pronounced.

Malzahn is very much like Petrino in his organization skills, maximizing practice time, and demanding perfection in all that he does. If the receiver is suppose to run a 10 and out, he doesn't want a 9.5 or a 10.5 and out. It's 10 and out and he will practice it until it becomes second nature. That was just one of the little talked about issues Malzahn had with Nutt because Nutt wouldn't allocate enough practice time to get the passing game down.

Rest assured Rebel Fans, the game you have against Auburn will shock you and your faithful. I’m a firm believer in that what goes around comes around and Nutt and the arse Clown Posse will get their just due in this year's game and for years to come. I actually think Nutt will start crying at the end of this game and perhaps even collapse from his pent-up emotions. The photos opportunities during and after this game will be priceless.

He never put the QB under center.

You can't win at a high level that way. One thing I noticed was he set his backfield in to some sort of semi-pistol formation where they were setting up options for play action or wishbone activities so it's different than his spreads in the past or a spread like say, Texas Tech. I still don't think it's going to work against a good defense. One thing I remember seeing over and over again was Chris Todd just launching up prayer after prayer and Msu wasn't in posistion to make plays, or were there but couldn't make plays. And, we know Chris Todd is not that great of a Qb b/c he lost the job last year to Burns, a horrific qb, and their was a competition for it this year amoung poor qbs.

I guess the only thing you can really point to and say he's going down the wrong path is that Auburn can be easily recruited against for a QB and highschool spread QB's that don't care about playing professionally are very hard to evaluate. Hell, he wanted Burns to come to Arkansas based on his highschool abilities and now Burns isn't even in the 2 deep at QB.

Malzhan IS definatly in over his head.

and if I'm an Auburn fan that's the main thing I'm concerned with. Sure there are alot of highschool Qb's out there than operate out of that system but Malzhan has already shite the bed at his first major evaluation in Kodi Burns. He was on Arkasnas radio stating Burns could run his offense when he first took that Auburn job.

So obviously it's a system where something in the evaluation process leaves alot to be determined once they get on the SEC field. When you combine that with the fact that a prostyle coach like Richt, Or Nutt or Petrino is going to say, " the Nfl doesn't draft that system anymore" well if you are a legit pro style qb or tailback for that matter (cough cough Dyer) who do you want to play for? Probabaly not a highschool spread offense that the Nfl frowns scoffs.

The last thing we need is for our fans to think we are hot shite because we beat La Tech and Mississippi State. Our first loss will bring a lot of people crashing down from cloud 9.

However, how can you not love these first performances after all the preseason hype of the inevitable Auburn suckage.

Not I,as I've liked the Chizek(sp) hire from the beginning.
Tubbs was a lot better recruiter than the piccalo players here give him credit for being.

Based on what?

When a fan paid for that poll to be done on the support for Nutt, Central Arkansas wanted him gone more than any other region. No one gave a shite that Nutt was from Little Rock, outside of his "possee."

By extension...that would suggest people don't harbor ill feelings about Gus. I've never heard anyone in any LR sportsbar or game talk bad about him.
