They seemed to have no power running game. Very strange for an SEC team.

You realize Miami very rarely rushed more than 4 people and usually dropped their quickest DL back to spy Franks, right? Also Franks avoided several sacks with his feet and strength to avoid and break tackles. This O-line is not good. And it wasn't supposed to be. I don't care if they are all upperclassmen, they were bench warmers. Hopefully they will improve as the season goes along or we are in trouble. Because the only thing worse than having Franks as the QB is having Franks as the QB with a shitty OL.

Perrine is one of the top SEC backs, but I wouldn't say great. He is the only one who was about to muster any yards last night.

Perrine is just one of those RBs that always seems to get good yardage. Only one team held him under 4.2 ypc last year and that was early on with only 6 caries against Tennessee. He even averaged 5.5 ypc against State who ended up #2 in the nation in rush D. He averaged over 5 ypc against 10 of 13 teams last year and averaged 12.7 ypc against Michigan (another top 25 run D in the bowl).

shouldn't put THAT much stock into rankings in the first week of the season. Miami could finish the season 10-2 for all we know.

10-2 wouldn’t necessarily prove Miami was good

Don't worry, I've checked with some Gator fans:

"Miami gave us their best shot"
"The best teams never come out very good in week 1, they continually improve"
"This game couldn't have been more perfect for Mullen. Get a win and keeps the team focused"
"If Miami plays like this every week, they are a top 25 team."

You forgot:
"Mullen is the QB Guru. Franks will win the Heisman."
