He probably realized that there was just too much talent at UG for him to ever get a chance to play there, after all they were National Championship runners up and had the #1 recruiting class in 2018 so you will have to be a 6* to get a shot there at playing time. They are like an NFL team, just too good. So much better than their competition in the SEC or in college football in general.

Well, we were 42-7 better than Florida, so there's that.
Let me see. We clearly had the better team last season, and brought in a much better class than Florida. We have a better HC than Florida. More talent on the roster than Florida. but Florida thinks they will magically make up 35 points in the score.

I'm just a little surprised at the attitude of some that it is already built and was done so at the expense and to the detriment of Bama.
Most understand it is not already built. I think on our board, one poster did a thread saying we could not catch up to the talent Alabama has until 202o if we continue to recruit lights out. (I don't remember who said it or how accurate, but it seems reasonable)
However, everyone would have to admit that to a certain degree, at least part of Kirby's recruiting success has come at Alabama's expense. If for no other reason we got Quay Walker. That would not have happened in previous years. I think Tennessee was able to hold on the JJ Peterson when Alabama turned their attention to him, and that would not have happened, either. Any way you slice it, Alabama has lost some top tier recruiters in Kirby and Pruitt (and I am sure others) and that has to hurt. It's amazing that Saban has been able to click along with no hiccups as long as he has.
I am not prepared to say Alabama is about to fall, but I don;t think it would be unreasonable for people to sit up and take notice, either.

The one who was PO’d is named Saban. He has lost some good recruiting coaches in the last Two years. He saw where the SEC is headed. Jimbo,Kirby, Dan and CJP at the VOLS are all upgrades and better than good recruiting coaches.
He knew if he was to stay on top he had to make staff changes. He went young and energetic.
If any body can make it work it’s Saban.
15-0 ship.

Out of curiosity...did he fire a bunch of guys, or did they leave for promotions?

I don’t think he told anyone that they were fired. Most left for upgrade in their job description.

Nolan and most of our current commits are visiting everyone and it’s on good info that he’s actively recruiting for the Dawgs at camps and stuff. One recruit was asked who recruiting the hardest for him to come to UGA and his answer was Nolan Smith. I’m sure kids have change of hearts and it can happen to anyone of these guys but getting visits is always a good thing.
That being said, you wanted attention because it’s what Bama fans do and you look like a real roll Tider posting it on the wrong board.

I didn’t start this, only trying to answer questions. Not mad or melting. Just a fan.

I guess some could have sensed that it was time to move on. If they left for higher paying jobs and/or promotions then it is reasonable to think they left on their own. If they left because they were not moving up or getting raises then it might be reasonable to think Saban told them it might be best if they looked for "other opportunities".

UF fans are amazing. So many have bought into the latest Gator sunshine propaganda. They somehow think that their latest coach - a man whose last team got totally destroyed by UGA - is going to figure it out and stop a Georgia dynasty in the making. Sorry, Gators, it's gonna take more than an average coach and subpar recruiting to slow down the runaway freight train that is headed straight at you.

Well said, Matt. I know you were being sarcastic, but your comments were absolutely correct. And you and yours are shaking in your little Gator boots seeing what Kirby is building in Athens. No need denying it. Unless you are delusional or living in some cave you know it too. Georgia is just getting started.

Mullen may or may not make it at UF, but if you think he won't be better at UF than at MSU then you're the silly one.

How is the 3rd rated weak-side DE, the 5th best player in the country? Does this mean 3 of the top 5 recruits nationwide next year are weak-side DE's?
Asking for a friend who is not sharp like me.

We'll never really know because Saban will never really say. He'll find or help them find new jobs and you'll never hear anything until that happens.
The ones that are lateral are kind of easy to tell/assume. Like when Michigan "stole" Nuss(according to their fans at the time). We all knew he was shown the door.
Otherwise, unless it's something like Lane Kiffin we'll never know.

We don't have any 6 stars committed yet, but for 2019 we have three 5 stars and four 4 stars. And Florida has one 4 star and four 3 stars. So yeah keep being a smart arse.

Bama is a beast, GA not yet. You GOT to beat the best to be the best...so far, GA hasn't done it. Roll Tide.

Yeah I don't know why bama fans jimmies are so rustled. Recruiting 'championships' are pretty meaningless... I mean, I'm excited, but I'd take one national championship over 50 consecutive recruiting championships.
