Who is saying this? I did not.
I have read it across this board that somehow LSU fans think they are one of the top rivals of Alabama. That is simply not true, not even close. Auburn, because they are in the same state is one, Tennessee because of history, but honestly Alabama's football rivals are not in the SEC.
The rivals that Alabama is up against are the other "blue-bloods" of the sport. We compare wins, titles, bowls, etc. I remember in 98 worrying about Nebraska winning the NC because it put them closer to Alabama (I actually lost some sleep.) It is the same with Kentucky basketball. Therefore other fan base not in the "blue-bloods" can comprehend it.
edit to add- As LSUSteve1 says "Everybody is LSU's rival." We did not even go a complete page before a LSU fan says it.....

The most accurate reflection of the rivalry is that Alabama owns a 21 victory lead in the series.

In the 21st century, what program is the closest to Alabama in all of these categories?
NCs: Bama - 6, who comes next? and of the two between Bama and the correct answer: They played twice one year, split the games, and Bama ended up with less wins than the other that year, while losing their division and at home to the same team.

Bama has a 54-26-5 record vs you, including a 24-5-1 record vs you in Louisiana since 1958 and a winning record vs every program in the SEC as the home team or visitor. And you are telling us that LSU is THE program in the SEC.
You are the insecure one and justifiably so. No one can blame you since you are a distant second or third in the SEC behind them in every meaningful category.

This board’s Alabama fans claim to have no care about LSU. I wish that were true.

But you go on thinking Alabama considers a school that that have a two to one margin in the series record a rival.....
My goodness child, Alabama has a 29-9-2 in LSU's Tiger stadium...
