I will go ahead and tell you that you aren’t going to change my mind. Pretty much all we have to go off of here are the statements from the mother. I am just not convinced that she is objective and unbiased.
I am just fine with the local school officials handling this instead of the internet. This part of the story was more important than all the quotes from the mom.
They obviously didn’t think it was criminal. They suspended him from football for two weeks and life went on.
The mother is complaining that her son is receiving all kinds of backlash. I wonder if she has taken the time to realize she is the reason he is receiving it. I wonder what the father says? He was never mentioned in the article.

The district said it worked with other law enforcement agencies and consulted the assistant district attorney’s office, but ultimately, the school police department decided criminal charges were not warranted.

You are an idiot. Both of my older brothers have peanut allergies and I have seen them firsthand get hold of a nut in their food not just peanuts any kind of nut their throat swells up their face turns red and then their throat gets very constricted. One of my brothers is 70 years old. My other brother is 68 years old so no it’s not a new thing you fricking douche bag.

Peanuts to someone with a severe allergy, are just as deadly as common sense or cyanide is to a stupid, Stupid, STUPID son of a bitch like you. You are literally fricking ignorant.

Sure, these parents will let their kids be exposed to pornography in grade school, but a bully using peanuts?
Ironically, it’s peanuts they should’ve been exposed to. Exposing high risk infants to peanuts lowers their chance of an allergy by about 80%. I’m guessing fastidious, wimpy parents afraid of everything have kept their kids away from certain foods out of fear and have actually put their kids at higher risk of poor outcomes.
ETA: there are different protocols for different high risk kids. So parents should still seek medical advice on when and how.

I don’t believe these numbers. Based on this thread it seems to be more like 1 in 10.
Does anyone other than me ever wonder why everyone seems to be allergic to everything these days?

Dying from touching a peanut does seem to be a recent development. You would think that if it were such a deadly epidemic, you’d actually hear about people dying from it every once in a while. But I can’t recall when I have heard that.
It does seem that a LOT of the kids that have peanut allergies would find something else to be victimized by if it weren’t for the peanut.
"I've never heard of this thing that I put absolutely zero effort into researching so it's #fakenews and someone just wants to be victimized".
There are some seriously fricking stupid people on this board.

Can we ban this dude? Like I'm all for free speech and trolling/bitching on this site, bit this guy is dangerously stupid/offensive. Whether he's trolling or not, he's actively downplaying assault acusations and serious life threatening conditions.

You want people banned because they don’t think peanuts are the same as cyanide?

What kind of psycho would look at this story and say "who gives a shite?"
Kid should probably spend some time in a mental hospital instead of being rewarded at a major program.
