That was in response to someone saying it doesn’t seem like people ever actually die from peanut allergies, which is obviously not true.

I’ve never made any statement on what should happen to the kid at all

Is it true the allergies kid proceeded to play a game on the same day after taking out the peanuts? And you want a sophomore or junior kid to face assault charges?

That was me. I said I seem to never see a news article about someone dying from a peanut allergy.

I figured out why I seem to never hear about people dying from peanut allergies. It is because it is so rare. In the U.S., a country of 331 million people, 150 people a year die from all food allergies combined. People in the U.S. have a 0.000045% chance of dying from a food allergy this year. That is from the USDA December 2023. That is why it is so rare to see a story about people dying from peanut allergies.

Like I said before, it sucks for people that have peanut allergies. But among things that are going to kill someone, it is down there with bees, dogs, and lightning.

And before anyone accuses me (again) of not believing in peanut allergies, I totally do believe they exist. I just don’t consider it the deadly killer that some, like the “he should be arrested for attempted murder” people in this thread, make it out to be.

Bad logic. He asked if it could kill him. The guy said yes. So they fricked with him. It’s not about how common peanut allergies are it’s about the possibility of death. My brother has peanut allergies. If he doesn’t get medical attention or if he doesn’t have an epi pen, he will die. Period.

As has been confirmed by the mom and… only the mom.

We now know more about your brother’s peanut allergy than we do what really happened in this story.

I am surprised that mom didn’t describe how her son had to use an epipen if everything she says is true. He almost certainly would have carried one and needed to use it. Instead she just said he required no medical care. Just things that don’t add up to me. Maybe that is also why law enforcement declined to pursue it?

It is amazing how many of you stupid, uneducated imbeciles in this forum can't understand that peanut allergies are deadly.

How stupid do you have to be, not to be able to catch on? I understand in your case, that you're extremely fricking stupid. You and that moment fool.

I am the one that posted the number of deaths from food allergies. I am curious how you could see that and then come to the conclusion I don’t think they are deadly.

They are. I even posted how deadly. They just are not nearly as deadly as some of you want to make them out to be.

Ten times as many people die in bicycle accidents a year. Should we be ten times more outraged by that?

Again, I am sorry I am not angry enough about this. And I apologize that I am fine with local authorities handling it. I will be honest, I may just be too old to have the energy to get as bent out of shape by this as some of you.

If all that is true, I definitely don't want him representing LSU!

If you're in a bicycle accident, you might die.

If you're exposed to an allergen that will kill you without an epipen, you will die.

Find a better example if you don't want people to think you're an idiot.

@Michaulh2
It would be nice if the truth would spread as fast as the lies that have spread in this situation. There a few peanuts put in a kids shoe that yes had an allergy but they took the peanuts out before the kid put the shoes on. The kid wasn’t hurt.. Gus was punished.

I talked with
@gus9bus at Texas Junior Day for about 20-30 minutes. People make mistakes but this kid isn’t what people are trying to make him out to be. I’m rooting for you Big Fella .

It sounds like an epidemic. We should do something. Can we ban all nuts? If it saves just one life it will be worth it.
