Apparently this kid almost killed his teammate with a severe peanut allergy and a lot of people aren’t happy he is getting visits.

Texas WR Xavier Worthy retweeted the article below, clearly isn’t a fan.

quote:

AUSTIN – Two Lake Travis High School football players are accused of purposefully exposing a teammate with severe allergies to a food that could potentially kill him.

KTBC Fox 7 in Austin reported last month that Lake Travis ISD confirmed that students coated the teammate’s belongings in peanut products in October, but would not detail how the students were disciplined.

The student’s mother spoke to CBS Austin last week and said, as far as she’s aware, the students were only benched for two games.

“They might as well have loaded a gun and put it to his head because this is a fatal thing for my child,” Shawna Mannon told CBS Austin.
Mannon said her son’s teammates asked him about several scenarios and whether peanut exposure could kill him.

Her son told them, “Yes, it absolutely could kill me,” she said.
After that conversation, Mannon said the teammates flicked peanuts at him and put peanut products in his locker, his cleats and on his uniform. Her son broke out in hives almost immediately. His mom said if the products had even touched his face, he could have gone into anaphylactic shock.

“They put this kid in a situation beyond his control, where he was exposed to something that could’ve killed him, and it was done deliberately and maliciously, so that needs to be called out for what it is – attempted murder. At the very least, this is bullying,” Dr. Allen Lieberman, an allergist with a specialty in food allergies with children at Austin Family Allergy & Asthma told CBS Austin.

Mannon and other parents have spoken out at a school board meeting. They are outraged and think the act deserves more serious punishment, including criminal charges.

He'll fit right in with the Gumps. Looks like they're first on the visit list to offer him NIL money.

I can confirm this story. I have a senior there. The mom of the victim went on fb for help bc the POS administration at this school are bullies. The head coach suspended the two perps for two weeks, one was a bye week and other was a cupcake team. There are a lot of angry parents, but the district won’t do anything.

The parents need to organize to bring pressure to bear. School boards need to be put on notice.

Believe me, I have experience in (ugh) “community organizing.” It really can make a difference.

Dying from touching a peanut does seem to be a recent development. You would think that if it were such a deadly epidemic, you’d actually hear about people dying from it every once in a while. But I can’t recall when I have heard that.

It does seem that a LOT of the kids that have peanut allergies would find something else to be victimized by if it weren’t for the peanut.

Have you been an Auburn fan long? If this kid also steals a laptop Hugh Freeze will fly him in, give him a full scholarship and get him laid by hookers once a week.

Maybe they should bully the parents too for not producing an offspring that can stand up to the mighty peanut.

Says the Gump who's team never disciplined their WR for punching a woman in the face after a game. You need more examples? Delivering a murder weapon to the scene of said murder? Wrong place, wrong time?

I mean, I don’t know. The whole “exposure to pornography” thing is probably almost entirely a suburban phenomenon. You know, stay at home yoga moms with a bachelor’s in sociology from UT who are transing their daughters, got Ukraine flags and “In This House We Believe” signs on their lawns.

Peanut allergy killer bullies would seem to be right up their alley.

Are there even libraries in ghetto schools?

The story

You may want to rethink that position. They asked him if his peanut allergy could kill him, he said “absolutely it could”. Then, they stuffed a bunch of peanuts in his jersey inside his locker. OP’s source says they also threw peanuts directly at the boy, put them in his shoes.

We have evidence of just how calculated this was, because the kid was concerned enough over his bullies that he had recorded that conversation with his phone.

The corrupt school district ruled this didn’t constitute bullying, and there were no notable consequences (suspended for a throwaway game).

I am pretty sure the mother is not gonna let this go because her kid is facing backlash & she can go after them for aggravated assault if she wants to, easy — no matter what Lake Travis & the district think about it.

Kid knowingly did something that could have killed his own teammate. His parents were working their asses off to get it swept it under the rug, but that seems to have backfired.

It won’t help, the board members themselves are the people who run the youth sports and their kids play HS sports. They don’t care.

Here’s the link with video of interview with the mom.
