I already did once. You just chose to ignore it. We all know why.

Sounds like you didn’t link it. Maybe I should see what you linked.

How can one find an argument that was never advanced?

Can you post up what actually happened? I mean from a source that isn’t Carter’s mom?

So far, even 18 pages in, this thread is very heavy on “what ifs”, but very light on “what weres”.

I mean if the kid had a severe peanut allergy the school admins, teachers and coaches would have surely known. And yet knowing he was afflicted with this deadly malady they still didn’t see this as criminal?

Maybe the school and local law enforcement are in this together and really are covering it up? Or maybe Carter’s mom is pissed off some older teammates were picking on her little peanut and she is embellishing or outright creating a few details?

Life experience says it is probably in the middle; but I would lean towards believing the school and the cops over one random woman I know nothing about.

Maybe, just maybe…

Your entire argument also stands on a “what if”. There’s nothing, yet, proving anything the mother claimed as false.

I can see why you would laugh at that portion of the sentence lol.

The reason projectiles would be noteworthy is outside of secondary exposure from hand to face, it’s generally more dangerous to be exposed above the chest (so head or neck).

Mannon and other parents have spoken out at a school board meeting. They are outraged and think the act deserves more serious punishment, including criminal charges.

What do criminal charges have to do with the school district? If the kid or his mom want to press charges, they don't need the school's permission.

No, but there is this. And in a game of hearsay, I am choosing to side with school officials and law enforcement over Karen.

They can go to the SA and file anytime. The SA however has probably already been involved and passed on charges.

School suspended the kid so punishment has been taken. Schools do have sovereign immunity.

At this point it’s civil and if the family wants damages then go file against the peanut thrower.

Schools do have immunity from liability in most states. Just pointing out they’ve punished and moved on. You should too.

You may have missed this part too.

You do realize you can’t just go to the police and tell them to arrest someone don’t you?

They and the DA make that decision based on the evidence.

All we have to go by is this article and interview, but it seems that so far based on what they know law enforcement has refused to charge anyone.

Did the school put peanuts in the kid's locker?

Now once proven absolutely incorrect your fallback is "well the schools are part of the state so they have immunity " - that's not part of the discussion AT ALL

Personally, I'd (a) send the kid to the ER immediately to make sure he's OK and to document what happened to him (2) be filing a police report and (3) civil suit against the kid(s) and their families and then go from there.

If it was truly mockingly "throwing peanuts" at the kid that would be very different from the allegation of coating his pads with peanut powder.
