I'd be down.

NC is the last real prize for the SEC. maybe Virginia, but an opportunity like this is unlikely to happen again. Swoop in and force the ACC to act.

It'd be perfect. And we wouldn't be lying to ourselves about still being a regional league like the B1G and Big XII have. The map would still very much look like a Southeastern map.

UNC and NCSU would immediately develop new/old rivalries with South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia like A&M did with LSU, Arkansas, Alabama, etc.

And, UNC and NCSU would slide in on par with other mid-tier football programs. Good baseball programs. Good to elite basketball programs.

Perfect fit. Would be awesome. Also, won't happen.

Ideally you'd want UVA or VT for more market and probably better overall programs than NCST but I'm not complaining.

Yea, the 4 most logical choices are a pair of the VA or NC public schools. However, I don't ever seen Virginia moving to the SEC. They'd move to the B1G before they'd ever join the SEC. Virginia is not nearly as much in the sphere of SEC influence as North Carolina is (especially with Maryland in the B1G now). Ideally you'd get UNC and Virginia Tech, but that'd never happen.

Although, I realize it will never happen. I enjoy the idea behind the pod system.

I wouldn't mind 1 but I don't think 2 works as well.

One thing that could work to determine championship teams is combine 2 pods for a representative and rotate the pods every year. Play all of the teams from your pod (3 games), along with the pod you're matched with that year (4 games), and then each team has a permanent non-pod rival that they must play ever year. (1 game)

Year 1 - SEC West + SEC South vs. SEC East + SEC North
Year 2 - SEC West + SEC East vs. SEC South + SEC North
Year 3 - SEC West + SEC North vs. SEC South + SEC East

Scheduling would probably be a bitch but it would be fun. Plus the longest you'd go without playing another SEC team would only be 2 years rather than the 6 we have now.

I said this would be a good way to handle pods a couple years ago and still think it's the best way to do it.

Pods of 4 + Superpods of 8 that rotate every year to determine a championship game.
