There is another award for that. The Heisman is not for the student/athlete.

If you have insurance; go talk to someone.

If not, read a self- help book.

You can get through it though buddy.

The collective record of the teams Heisman winners play on is over 90%. Whether rightly or wrongly the winner is almost always a skill position offensive player on a top 4 team.

Not sure of that....maybe since 1990? But go back in time with me and you will see that wasnt always the case. Fricking ESPN and the social media bombardment now annoints winners in March or April...sad. No such thing in the 1960s to 1970s I assure you of that. Even Spurrier won after 1966 season with a team that lost 2 games late...one to UGA and one to Naw Jersey @ Coral Gables the last game of the season...QBs couldnt do that now.

Dont know what high school film y'all looked at...but I definitely wanted Henry over Kelvin Taylor...Henry broke Fla high school rushing records. Taylor was a legacy, oh well. Henry played at Yulee which is just north of Jax and very close to Georgia...played against good competition.

LSU seems like they have diaper rash or something. They will have azz spanked in October in the Swamp. Thats right...nothing you can do about it.

Henry was local and wanted UF but Muschamp recruited him as a linebacker.

You are correct. And unfortunately, for your assertion, it precisely describes why Henry received the Heisman and not McCaffrey.

The Heisman was specifically created for the best player on the best team. That player also had to be an integral part of the team dynamic and a key reason for much of their success.

This describes Henry perfectly.

Nah. Another fake field goal should do the trick.

And everyone has their opinion on who should win. He won, move on.

Oooj HELL YEAH!

Wish this would have happened. Henry is a fantastic player but that would have sent all the right messages.

Meh. If Henry had been mediocre and LF won over the field, this thread would be a fan of another team (most likely TAMU because they are really good at getting y'all riled up) saying McCaffrey deserved the Heisman and every LSU poster in the thread pitching a hissy fit over that suggestion. So these types of threads are hardly a surprise -- they're all about what team you care about and what team you want to piss off.

McCaffrey was awesome to the nth power.

The award went to the wrong player but who wants to be in a club with Tebow and Manziel? The Heisman is a joke.

This has been a pathetic offseason for LSU fans so far.

I thought he deserved the award and had no issue with him receiving it. I really wished Fournette could have kept his season going, but unfortunately, ran out of steam in some important games

The problem is the Pac 12 title game was on at the same time as the ACC and Big 10 title games (which both had CFP implications).

But he is not right. The Heisman isn't supposed to be awarded to a superior player on a lesser team.

That is something that no one understands because they can't read.

Except they've awarded it to a player on a lesser team plenty of times before.

Not saying that McCaffrey wasn't worthy, but he didn't face the same level of competition. Not only did Bama play the toughest schedule in the nation last year, but Henry played against much tougher defenses than McCaffrey according to NCAA rankings:

Rank of Defenses that Henry faced (FBS average rank: 40)
====================================================
#2 Wisconsin
#7 Georgia
#8 Florida
#10 Clemson
#25 LSU
#26 Michigan State
#36 Tennessee
#51 Texas A&M
#54 Ole Miss
#56 Mississippi State
#58 Arkansas
#71 Auburn
#75 Middle Tennessee State
#92 Lousiana-Monroe
(#9 in FCS) Charleston Southern

Rank of Defenses that McCaffrey faced (FBS average rank: 78)
========================================================
#13 Northwestern
#22 Iowa
#31 Washington
#45 Notre Dame
#65 USC
#67 UCLA
#84 Washington State
#85 Colorado
#108 California
#112 Arizona State
#113 UCF
#114 Arizona
#115 Oregon State
#116 Oregon

Henry deserved it just as much as any of the Heisman finalists...
