Top 8 in the polls =/ top 8 from the selection committee. It's good to stay high in the polls for perception to introduce some bias to the people that matter.

Kind of interesting that 7 teams are crammed into the top 10-12 but there's no one between 13-25.

Ole Miss really shouldn't have dropped that far in D1 and Perfect Game after losing a series to UF.
UF is a team with potential to win it all, with almost everyone back from the team that started last year 16-0.
They're placing quite a bit of value on UF falling nearly 13 spots after getting swept at South Carolina.

That's what I mean. That's the only "poll" that matters. For Tech, Texas, TCU and maybe even Ok State, the winner of the Big 12 will almost certainly be a selection. No. 2 and 3 in the conference will probably be at least 9-16.
The winner of the SEC will no doubt have the No. 1, and then probably 3 more of the top 8. At least.
