The entire back half of his career has been his success with riding the coattails of LSU talent.

He swindled A&M and Arky.

He's an improvement over what we had.

Yep.

He's lucky we recruited so damn well for him while he sat in Baton Rouge and jerked off to the Mustang package.

He'll have teams playing fundamentally sound football, but he won't bring any exotic blitzes, he'll play too safe in crunch time, and he won't recruit worth a shite.

I member when Aggie thought that was a huge win and was going to bring A&m a win over LSU.

I have no problem With Chavis. He's recruited well and we look more aggressive this year.

If nothing else,he'll teach these young players sec defense and it's up to the players to execute.

LSU was a honey hole for him, aggie, not at all.

Maybe he can build something here.

aggie is just not a place to make a judgement on a coach. Most don't do well there.

The absolute truth. Wish we'd never crossed paths.

Lots of words to say A&M sucked with him there, but I'll allow it.

Well to be fair y’all were right. He was an improvement over the horrific defense A&M had just before he got there.

Chavis is a pretty good DC.

Every coordinator has to have some talent to do well. Haven't followed him after he left LSU but respected him while he was here.

Even though he's old school he's willing to adapt more readily than most DCs.

I member that and I member right before that time when LSU thought there was no way he'd leave them for Aggie.

When did this happen?
He was the worst at in-game adaption.

Yeah but it's kind of a moot point. Chavis left because in the event of Miles not being the head coach his job wasnt secure which is not anything unusual. That exact thing happened when Sumlin was fired.

I wasn't referring necessarily to in-game adaptation but a great example of that would be vs A&M in '12. He's been at this a long time so you could find counter examples.

Given good talent, there are few better et dealing with all the exotic offenses of today.
