No,

I show he moved to safety after the Tennessee game (after that hit).

No

Either way, he gives 15 pounds to Bill Bates.

Bates was 189 in college, Allen was 200, same height

I think Herschel was such a big deal because he was a really hyped up Freshman, and that was one of his first ever carriers

This. I remember that day. And Bill Bates was no slouch either.

Another was the NFL of Bo vs Boz MNF game.

Herschel was the first mega star rb of the ESPN era. Deservedly so. There were others who would have been just as big had they played in the same era. ESPN had finally become a fan fixture when Herschel burst onto the scene.

Oh look, token Alabama fan HAS to jump in and say they are the best at everything.

Why can't you assholes let other fan bases enjoy themselves without being the "one up" guy?

Herschel would play on the same team as the man he killed.

Bill Bates..."I looked into Herschel's eyes and realized he wasn't going to make a move. The next thing I knew, I had footprints on my chest and turned around and saw No. 34 running into the endzone."

This, and he is a good guy who the media brass like, so he has become somewhat of a folk legend.

Shows you how much College Football has changed. That was the first game of the season and it was a big Conference game. Now we have to wait until October to get those type of games.

i wonder why that one has stood the test of time

-it was literally his first game ever
-we were down 15-0 on the road and that's what got us back in it, we'd eventually win 16-15 IIRC
-it can be argued (and many non-UGA outlets and entities have done so) that he's the greatest CFB player of all time, and that was his first real introduction to the cfb world
-it's not like that was a 5'8" corner, that was a MLB that went on to play many years in the NFL

quote:

Leonard Fournette had some great ones against Auburn and A&M just a few years ago.

And there have been many UGA players with equally satisfying trucks, that one stands out for the reasons above though. You also have to realize that 6'1 220 RBs are a dime a dozen these days but back then you didn't really see a lot of RBs iwht Hershel's size considering back in those days there were some linemen that were barely that big.
