The guy in charge of the field crew who made the call to turn them on was a UGA grad. The Head Coach/AD was also a UGA grad.

I live how it always gets left out that the UGA fans still in the stands had already torn down some railing and we're trying to tear up the bleachers and more railing.

JHS Groundskeeper who ran the hoses was a Georgia grad, too, IIRC

I was at that game. No water cannons, no fire hoses. AU turned on the sprinkler system and the hoses used to water the field.
