Has USCe ever finished a season ranked higher than preseason rankings? Honest question because they always seem to be ranked high but never much talk come BCS time.

Try the past 2 seasons. Finished top 10 both times. Never get in the BCS because of the depth of the SEC.

Now I know. Can't blame it on depth though. It's the SEC East.

So? The BCS doesn't select based on divisions, it picks on conference. So yes, when the BCS chooses 'Bama and LSU and Auburn and Arkansas in seasons in which SC won the East and won 11 games depth matters.

Then don't beat Bama and get demolished by Arkansas. That was an easy call that season.

You're still missing the part about depth of the SEC. For example we beat the hell out of Clemson when they went to the Orange Bowl. I think its not a reach to say that we've had some teams that could've reached the BCS easily if in the ACC or another conference.

Not counting on it, but think it's possible.
One of these days we are going to put it together.
