I gotta go with Jimbob Fisher here.
He is easily the best hire for 13 of 14 SEC schools.

Saban was hired more than a decade ago. As was Calipari.
Then make it twenty years.
Urban Meyer?
(Not counting the end of Spurrier’s career)

LMAO the guy that will have LSU on serious sanctions is the second best hire in all sports the last decade? He's not even a good x's and o's coach. Great recruiter though, due to big arse fricking offers.

People keep saying this. When is it going to happen? I need to prepare myself.

The guy has lost TWO conference games in the last 2 years. Yeah, no good at coaching.

Dan Mullen at State would hafta be honorable mention. We were coming off the demise of Jackie Sherill and the Croom error.
I wasn’t crazy about how he left but we can’t thank him enough for elevating a dead program.

The NCAA likes to take years investigating programs. Could be the end of this year or 2 years from now, but anyone with common sense knows it's coming.

Paul Mainieri? He’s not Skip but who is in SEC baseball? I paused and looked up Ron Polk but he never won a Natty. Can’t hardly believe Ron Polk did not win a National Championship. Skip won 5.
Paul’s record at LSU;
1 Natty
4 SEC Reg Championships
6 SEC Tournament Championships

Technically the 2nd best hire would be Alabama hiring Saban because LSU hired him First

People talk crap about women’s basketball, but Dawn Staley is one of the most accomplished coaches in the sec regardless of sport. Coaches the us olympic team, has built South Carolina into a top 10 program nationally over the past decade, and has been dominant in this conference. Also adding in the fact she played in the WNBA, and was a hall of famer.

Glad to ser you trolling someone beside Alabama for a change.

But Frank Martin couldn't sustain. This is a rebuilding year for Auburn and we're 19-2 and a top 15 team.
South Carolina's Final Four run was viewed as a Cinderella run and a testament to Frank Martin's coaching, but Auburn's Final Four run was more validation of what Pearl had built here and that we are an elite program
Maybe. Maybe not. I'd wait to see how AU does in this year's tournament and future NCAA tournaments to determine that.
The year before our Final Four run we were 25-9 under Martin.

If we're going back 20 years, Saban is also the #2 best hire.

Saban is obviously #1 hire across all sports. The number of SEC and National titles won at a program that was all over the place for a long while.
But who is the 2nd best hire? Not just Football. But in any sport.
And if we're changing the parameters to include 20 years and since any sport is included you legitimately have to consider Dawn Staley. It may just be "women's basketball" but look at this turnaround:

We're currently ranked #1 this season and I think something like 20-1 with 4 SEC tournament titles in there too.
