Mizzou served their purpose in relation to Blake: Let him get his feet wet as a DC in the SEC

Now he can return to a real SEC school and dominate

Well, he just signed a contract extension last week and is set to make $1.1 for 2023 so I assume he got a raise from that. Anything can happen of course, but he certainly isn’t unappreciated at MU.

TrueLefty would melt his face off if this were to happen.

BK already lives rent free in his head.

Wasn't he fired from LSU at one time?

Who was the last Mizzou coordinator to become a head coach?

Does that matter? I'm fairly certain that it doesn't.

Zou is a great spot for him, but I just don’t know if I see him passing it up….

Was LB's coach in 2021 but wasn't retained by BK, it was a pretty surprising move at the time as the linebackers had improved noticeably over the course of the season and he had also recruited well.

He's a big part of why LSU has Harold Perkins.

To be fair, the report could be complete BS.

At this point, I am convinced that no "insider" knows what is happening at LSU. Everyone has been wrong about various things at times.

If LSU truly wants him, he’ll be in Baton Rouge shortly without a doubt.

Given what he’s done at Missouri, imagine what he could do at a real football program with real talent.

Yes, it was so evident all of the talent on defense...

So what you're saying is if he doesn't end up there they really didn't want him? Ok

Ryan Walters is at Purdue he was DC at Mizzou in 2020.

Hell, Steve Wilks was the most successful head coach the Panthers have had in the past half decade. Now he is coaching the niners defense.

Mizzou last 5 DC’s in Order:

Blake Baker - current
Steve Wilks - 49ers defensive coordinator, Panthers DC, Panthers head coach
Ryan Walters - Illinois DC, Purdue Head Coach
Barry Odom - Mizzou Head coach, Arky DC, UNLV Head Coach
Dave Steckel - Mo State Head coach
Matt Eberflus - Cowboys Linebacker coach, Colts DC, Bears Head Coach

None of these guys really got lured away. Walters was not retained by Drinkwitz when his contract expired and Pinkel told Eberflus he was a better for the NFL.

Kelly didn't retain him when he hired House, because House's "specialty" is LB.

Never understood why they let him walk in the first place. He was one of the few on the 2021 staff that knew what he was doing.

Seems like Kelly just wanted a fresh start and only left Davis because of his talent and experience with OL.

Baker is a good hire, but losing him won't break Mizzou.

How did he miss out on Baker? That must've proved he isn't very bright on his evaluation on him.

If LSU wants Baker they will get him. If they have to pay 2.3 million to get him they will. Baker also went to Tulane for college. Lol
