Is that the game they beat FSU with Anquan Boldin at QB?

No. Outzen was playing QB. FSU was actually favored by nearly a TD

I miss Sport Illustrated coming in the mail and not having tranny javelin throwers as the feature.

It was just a magical year. From the opening win at Syracuse on the last play of the game, to finally getting over the UF hump, the absolute domination of UGA in Athens, the 100-yard kickoff return by Peerless against Bama, the stumble and fumble, the murdering of Tim Couch and Kentucky, the two touchdowns in 32 seconds against MSU in Atlanta, then the Fiesta Bowl win to top it all off.

Congrats. I hope you remember it well. I think we all can agree Tennessee isn’t getting close to one again in our lifetimes.

It’s funny but even after Kevin Prentiss returned the punt, I never thought that we were going to lose. I guess after all the close calls that year I just figured that they’d find a way to pull it out.

It was destiny after the Arkansas game.

Tennessee won several pretty close games that year as I recall.

Not bad...you beat FSU's 3rd string freshman QB that was one year removed from running the wishbone in high school.

For an entire season, that was the luckiest team I have ever seen.

Syracuse, Florida, and Arkansas, were really the only regular season games that they were in danger of losing. There were a couple of others that were competitive but the issue wasn’t really in doubt. The SEC title game and the Fiesta Bowl were obviously very tough games, although the Fiesta Bowl really shouldn’t have been as close as it was.

You recall correctly.

The season was a nail biter from start to finish.
