Serious question: when was the last time that Oklahoma beat an SEC conference champ? I am sure they have in the past, but I simply don't know.

The 1968 Orange Bowl versus Tennessee might be the answer?!?

I think UGA won the SEC in 1968, so it can't be that.

And you're talking about spending money efficiently?

Probably putting in more exits so fans can get out fast when they start having to play real teams.

That’s actually part of the upgrades. Last I heard they were trying to expedite new LED lighting before this season. I may be wrong on the timeline but I know that new lighting will be put in soon.

2025 sec conference champs

Some times this is good for a CFP loss to the real best team in the SEC, so it would be fitting for OU.

Yeah, I live in OKC and am down in Norman quite a bit. I really enjoy Norman, but the tailgating has a way to go to get to SEC caliber. I hope OU begins making strides in that direction.

The tailgating was okay before Boren got a stick up his arse about it and shut down large portions of those areas. The fanbase is not enthused about what he did either.

Why do you continue to embarrass OU? Its $300m and covers all sports facilities. Its big but is spread around the whole campus. Softball, baseball, tennis, golf, basketball, football and other buildings. Biggest football upgrade is a complete new press setup.

Mr OU guy was wrong all along it’s not 300 mil it’s 486 million for 9 total athletic projects the board voted on.. so please don’t come on here and embarrassing OU fans with wrong figures trying to make as arse of yourself k?

300 mil is for the main project plans.

***The board’s most recent updated numbers estimated the planned improvements to cost $485 million. This will be paid for by a combination of private and other Athletic Department funds. There is no timeline for the construction of the projects.

***The main project remains the south and west side of the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Also, OU has plans to upgrade the north end zone and remaining phases – projected cost of $300.00 million

Must have not looked up the new stadium that was done 8 years ago, and beats out all the SEC for modern amenities

I have been to both A&M and Okie. There is no comparison whatsoever. Kyle Field is a palace compared to Okie. Don't take my word for it, go look up all the college stadium rankings.

I never said your stadium wasn’t better which is why we are upgrading ( OU still today is a top 10 stadium ) as far as money spent ……always said Kyle field has a great enviroment ……… the area it’s in and the campuses are lack luster which is what I was taking about .

Spend as much as you want; A&M will still own the record for OU's worst home loss.

Pay your exit fee and come join us. Oh sorry, you are a little short of cash.

Let us know when you spend 495 million on your football stadium. A&M is also spending an additional 120 million on an all athletics improvement. The money you noted is for all athletics.

The real question is when will OU open up adequate space for tailgating to match the rest of the SEC, because last map I saw it was about 10-15% by comparison.

I went last year to watch them host NEB during one of our cupcake games. I think they'll do fine with tailgating. Nothing to write home about but not Floyd Casey bad
