2025 Hoover Experience…

You Texas and OU fans, hoped you enjoyed the atmosphere. This is the premier site of college baseball and probably the 2nd best baseball setting only to Omaha.
Even though it didn’t work out like you had hoped, just know that most experts believe the SEC Tournament is harder to win than the National Title at the CWS.
I would say my biggest complain these last 2 days as it is every year I travel to Hoover, is the the traffic. The one way in and one way out is just stupid. Just wish it was in a different location where you could enter the stadium from multiple directions.

We even didn’t play a starter. We had a walk-on on the mound. Good game. We definitely didn’t deserve to win the game with the lethargic mid-inning ABs.

Lie #1. So none of those position players was a starter today prior to today?

Your freshman of the year took the Lose.
The first pitcher did good, but you most definitely tried to win that game when you brought Grubs and Volantis(4-1) into the game.
I know you’re not used to this format or tournament, but you will realize soon that every team has a different strategy. Some teams throw there midweek guys early and hope to win so they can throw their aces semis and finals. Some coaches will go with starters first couple games and then go mid week guys later.

You struck out 18 times at the plates.
And throwing a “walk on” is cute. Arvidson longest outing prior to today was 2 innings, today was 5.1 innings. He is a redshirt Juco sophomore that’s from 30 minutes outside of Austin. Had a career high in K’s(9). He’s only pitched 2 innings 5 times and then goes 5 1/3rd today and was a big surprise.

IOW he’s second on your team in appearances and your best long relief bullpen arm

His longest outing this year is 2.1 innings prior to today. He is normally our midweek guy. Prior to today he has only face double digit batters twice and both times it was 10 batters.
Let’s look at the games he pitched in.
Hofstra- 1.0 win
UNC Asheville- 2.1 win
Samford- 2.0 win
Arizona- 1.2 win
St. Bonaventure- 1.0 win
St. Bonaventure- 1.0 win
West Georgia- .2 win
Florida- .2 win
Queens- 2.0 win
aTm- 2.0 loss
Ole Miss- 1.2 loss
Tenn Tech- .1 win
UK- .1 loss
UK- 2.0 loss
LSU- 1.0 loss
Auburn- .1 loss
Auburn- .2 loss
Northern UK- .2 win
Indiana State- .2 win
Vandy- 1.1 loss
Arkansas- .2 loss
Arkansas- 2.0 loss
Alabama- .1 win
Texas- 5.1- win
As you see he only pitched in SEC games that we lost to eat up innings an not pitch out main guys. He got most of his work in games against teams like Queens till this week. Prior to this week he only pitched in 1 SEC game where the Vols had won. You see the innings pitched in games the Vols won or loss as a team. He is midweek guy.

IOW He’s the best long reliever on your team
Your “midweek guy” who pitched in almost half of your SEC games
Your “midweek guy” who pitched in almost half of your SEC games

I was at the game and see their hitting lost. They did indeed play their starters and had 18 strikeouts. Also they pitched the “Freshman of the year” Volantis along with Grubs. They wanted to bad that’s why their coach was out their crying after a pitching change umps had to change umpires behind the plate.

The only SEC games he pitched in where losses and got put in to eat up innings. He didn’t throw any significant SEC game. In fact he only pitched in 1 SEC game the Vols won which was Florida. Rest of his games where already out of hand and was sent into eat up innings. He got most of his work in midweek games.

Sorry but this tournament is poison for most teams already set in the NCAA. Just burns arms and wears players out a week before the tournament that matters. This one only matters to teams that need the wins to move up Monday in the selections. Texas didn’t need this nor cares. Ole Miss needed a win or two to host.
This thing needs to be set back a week.

No one believes this, not if you are a top 4 seed. It might be true if you are seeded in the lower half.

It doesn't even make any sense to me.
All teams get in, single-elimination. That's a picnic party.
It's baseball is all that can be said.

I'm sorry but Schloss is right if he's thinking eff this shite.
Good TV, stupid tournament. How long has the SEC been doing this meaningless exercise.

I'm truly glad this cute little baseball picnic gave y'all something to win. Maybe there will be a prize at the end to put in that mausoleum.

Isn't it really all meaningless? A bunch of overgrown young adults acting like children. Senseless when we could all be working on cancer and world hunger.
