Off-topic for the game, but I wonder- can South Carolina play themselves back into a regional host? Seems crazy, a few weeks ago they were in line for a national seed.
My uneducated guess is that with a run, they might do so. They'd probably need to reach the finals, at least.

Probably don't deserve it; but I would assume they will take a hard look at how we perform in the tournament and then the Clemson series win could push us in.

Am I understanding this stat correctly? 10 runs is the most runs scored in an SEC tournament game since 1998? That seems weird. Especially considering the first game today had 9 runs.

Thanks for that reply. I am not sure what they were saying then. Maybe it was the most Auburn had scored in the tournament since 1998?

I wanna say I saw this somewhere but I might be making it up - did LSU announce Skenes is gonna pitch Thursday? It just dawned on me that if we have the same result as LSU today, that means we get to face him
Though we did outduel him down at the Box back at the beginning of SEC play, I guess…

I saw that somewhere as well, but I think it was just a random post, and not from an official source, so it may or may not be accurate.
Just checked LSU's website and here is the pitching matchup they have for today's game, so that info is probably correct.
PITCHING MATCHUP
LSU – So. RH Thatcher Hurd (4-2, 6.59 ERA, 41.0 IP, 29 BB, 55 SO)
USC – So. RH Eli Jones (4-4, 3.88 ERA, 46.1 IP, 15 BB, 57 SO)

He should. Tomorrow would be his normal start with 1 weeks rest.

If I was LSU, I wouldnt start him at all no matter what (maybe for the championship). Give the guy a week of rest, the SEC tourney helps you none.
now obviously that helps USC, and I get that, but from a purely LSU standpoint...you guys have locked a national seed spot, rest up
