You take the winners and a wildcard.
The Wildcard would be records, then runs scored or less runs allowed etc. That would need to be voted and made very clear before tournament started.
Benefits:
Every team gets 3 games and a day rest sometime in the tournament
Drawback:
Games would have to start Monday probably
Just going backwards a tentative schedule would be:
Sunday Finals
Saturday Semis
Friday Pool C (3)
Thursday Pool A(3) Pool B (3)
Wednesday Pool B (2) Pool C (2)
Tuesday Pool C (1) Pool A (2)
Monday Pool A (1) Pool B (2)
