I just had this thought on the Bama board and wanted the opinions of the rest of people on here If Bama had Deshaun Watson at QB this year, on the 2016 Bama squad, would teams like Ole Miss and LSU been able to keep it close?
Dude. LSU held the Heisman Trophy Winner and a Top 10 Louisville team (who had scored SEVENTY on Florida State and nearly beat National Champion Clemson) to 9 points.

bama didn't have Clemson's depth at WR. and Saban would use Watson is a more conservative way.

Lville was only in game with Clemson due to 5 turnovers including 4 in 2nd half. that coupled with quick scores by Clemson had the CU defense gassed in 2nd half. Lville had 100 snaps on offense and most likely would have routed any other team with that many.
and Lville's O-line play was terrible in latter part of the season. they weren't top 10 if they got crushed by houston and beat by kentucky

There were a few teams who were strong everywhere but QB. LSU was definitely one of them. If they had Watson at QB and kept everything else the same, they would have beaten Alabama this past year.

Lville's 2nd best win this year by record would be Wake Forest at home, and they stole plays from Wake.
