What's worse is that the two new members they're getting next year -- Rutgers and Maryland -- both lost their bowl games too.
You could actually say that the Big Ten is 0-4.

They won't have a clue what to write because they've been trying to pen the idiotic "the SEC is down this year!" narrative for the better part of four years.
They're rooting like hell for the SEC to come up small in the bowls so that they can point to the Pac-12's 5-2 (may be 6-2 if UCLA hangs on) record and try to gin up some storyline about how they've caught up to the SEC. Happens every year.
And while I'm at it, I'd also like to point out how the Pac-12's bowl record this year is utter fools gold. USC, Oregon State and Washington all drew non-AQ teams (Fresno, Boise and BYU) and Oregon drew a weaksauce Texas team. Given that the media has dropped the SEC-Big Ten rivalry in attempt to gin up an SEC-Pac-12 rivalry, I'm surprised that there were no bowl matchups. I understand the tie-in structure, but I was surprised by that.
