Actually Ole Miss' Swayze Field has a capacity of 10,323. Not 8500

Taylor Stadium. Just over 3,000 capacity. 2012 average: 824.

Put a weekend series at Busch Stadium Arkansas vs. anyone (I guess Mizzou could play us) and it'd get close to drawing 15K a game, maybe 20K on Sat.
People would make the trip to watch the Hogs play in the Cardinals home. It marries our baseball passions togeter.
I honestly think that wouldn't be a bad idea. Face it, they're not missing out on $$$ like you are if you play football or basketball away from home. Maybe it would energize the Mizzou fan base as to college baseball and they can see how much other schools support their baseball teams. If nothing else, I think it energizes the fan base because they don't want to be shown up by another school as far as support goes, even if they don't like college baseball. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a series in St. Louis and a series in KC to "introduce" the fans to SEC baseball and maybe attract more of them to make the road trip to Columbia as well.

I am gonna say that adds 500 - 1,000 to UK's actual numbers. If they counted it then they would probably have to make it alcohol free which would greatly diminish the bodies out there.
I highly doubt this. Arkansas counts our outfield party section in the attendance and its most definitely not alcohol free.

TBD or 11.3. Whichever is greater

Waaaayy back in 2005, Columbia had a Frontier League team called the Mid-Missouri Mavericks. They wanted a new ballpark. That might have been a chance to build something more than Taylor Stadium, which is essentially a bunch of aluminum bleachers and a pressbox.
I don't know what league the Lincoln, NE team is in, but NU got together with them and built a palace.

You can link to the blog on a tattoo on a Jayhawk's left butt-cheek if you like. Free advertising is, well, it's free.

How do they count attendance? Where the deck is located at UK there is no tickets taken and it backs up to a residential neighborhood so folks can just sneak in. With no tickets and no "gate" how would you count bodies? At best UK could guess I suppose but I am under the impression that they do not count anybody out there in the actual numbers. Which is why I made the point that UK's numbers are probably higher than reported.

Several years ago when we were in a different conference, I remember we played a home series with Missouri in a place called St. Joseph, MO. It was a small town that was almost in Nebraska.
I think their story was they were building a stadium or remodeling a stadium in Columbia.
My question was why St. Joseph? Why not Kansas City or St. Louis?
It was really weird. I think attendance was about 3.
There was no truth to the rumor that the local farmers surrounding the field and turned on their lights for night games......I don't think.

FWIW: St. Joseph would be the 3rd largest city in Arkansas.

That was 1999 against Kansas State in St. Joseph, MO. They played there entire season there.

Party deck attendance is not counted at Kentucky. There's no way to keep count out there. No tickets. No one out there to count people.

Its probably not in the top 50.
That's fricking pathetic for an SEC school to not make the Top 50.

impressive, but am I right to assume that Atlanta Braves season ticket holders got free tickets to the game? thus, bumping the attendance?

Big 12 school at the time the figures are collected. Pretty sure it will continue, but it will be a project.

Missouri fans should probably quit posting on here now that baseball season has started.
You are not going to like this place, it is ALL baseball.
