I think the world of you but I disagree. Saban didn't perform as well as Miles at LSU ( he does get props for reviving he program) and no other previous LSU coach seems to be close to the consistent high performance of LSU under Mles.
Miles has done a great job at LSU. Not many would have been as successful.

You don't?
absolutely not
Even against mediocre competition with superior athletes very few coaches can do that. And LSU hasn't had superior talent compared to SEC programs like Florida, Alabama, and Georgia - they have just had superior talent to programs like Arkansas, South Carolina, and Tennessee

Then he has been out-coached on a consistent basis.

Why are coach rankings so important to you? Coach rankings don't put skins on the wall. You can link any poll you want to about coach rankings. But when it comes down to what matters like actual wins and championships, miles is superior.
It's quite sad how hell bent you are to prove to the message board world that Petrino is better, especially when he doesn't have any sec championships. Really embarrassing to be honest.
He is a good coach but you really need to calm down.

heads up I think you are right if you change consistent to read at least half the time.
Arky is 2-2 against LSU since Petrino took over there. That says good things about Petrino IMO
The story is obviously different if you look at Petrino vs Saban or Miles vs Saban though. Petrino can't seem to beat Saban and LSU being 3-3 vs Saban at Bama is sort of a mixed bag overall (a couple times I felt like LSU hung with Bama more than they should have been able to and most recently I thought LSU failed to show up in the BCS NCG). On the balance Miles did extremely well heads up against NS in the regular season games between 2007 and 2011

Miles was 2-1 against Nutt while at Arkansas and 2-2 against Nutt while he was at Ole Miss...

so what?
Arky under BP was 2-2 against Ole Miss under HDN
That seems like an insulting anecdote but I'm not sure it added much to the conversation

so what?
Miles is 4-3 against Arkansas, hardly the definition of "dominating"...

Big difference b/w Petrino's record against Nutt and Miles' record against Nutt. Petrino inherited Nutt's shite and suffered due to it while Nutt took over a talented team at the same time, whereas when Miles faced Nutt he always had a stacked, well-coached team (partly due to Saban's working).

Who gives a frick? i mean, seriously? Miles is better than Petrino...only arky fans would say different.
the only reason Easy Rider is at #2 anyways is because he's only 51 years old.

It's comical to watch the justification and stretch Armstrong-like reaches that Arkansas fans attempt in order make their program and coaches sound better. Especially when they try to say their coach and program is enter than another program that is actually winning championships. I'm convinced they are just trolling because it doesn't make any sense to think other wise.

Do they award national titles and sec championships? I wasn't aware if they just started because that's actually all that matters and not these subjective rankings to make you feel better about your inferior program.

the best is "our state sucks.....so anything better than average is a miracle."

I think Miles should be ranked in the top 5. Considering the article addresses "who'd be best to take over and be in for the relative long haul", I think Miles has proven that he can do this at LSU. He really didn't have to revive the program, though he has maintained it since Saban left.
I also think Meyer, Stoops, as well as some others should be ranked lower, and I think Chris Peterson should probably be in the top 5 as well. jmho
