We pissed that game away with bad coaching. Miles cost LSU points with poor 4th down decisions and Chavis fricked us at the end the 2nd and 4th quarters. The Bama TD before halftime was a bad omen for LSU.

That was one of the best and worst games I've attended as a LSU fan. It was electric that night.

True. But 2012 was kind of a down year for us. Just like 2017.

2012 was arguably better than 2011. At least according to Bama fans.

Seriously, the offense was better but defense was not that great. Notre Dame just sucked. At least three teams not named Bama from the SEC that year would have beaten them easily. Two of them being Georgia and LSU.

For me, if I was an LSU fan, the 2014 game would have been more of a pain. You guys had that one. We seriously should have lost that game after the Yeldon fumble.

Wtf are you talking about? They ranked no.1 in the nation in scoring (10.9 pts/game), rushing, and total defense. They also on averaged faced far better offenses than the 2011 team. The 2011 defense faced 1 top 80 offense (Arkansas was 29th) while the 2012 team faced 8 (3 in the top 30). I know this is a very unpopular opinion but that 2011 defense is slightly overrated by most Bama fans.

I didn't think they were as good as the 2011 squad.

You specifically said they weren’t that great. But as I stated that 2011 team faced a bunch of god awful offenses while the 2012 defense faced plenty of good offenses.

Compared to what? 2011 Alabama? This is how the 2012 Alabama defense ranked nationally in the four major defensive categories:

#1 in Total Defense
#1 in Scoring Defense
#1 in Rushing Defense
#7 in Passing Defense

It also must be remembered that that 2012 Alabama team played a tougher schedule and more diverse offenses than that 2011 Alabama squad. And still the defense finished #1 in three of the nation's four major defensive categories. They were also the last defense to allow their opponents less than 11 points per game. That was a GREAT defensive football team by any measurable you can think of. I mean, holy crap, they shut out four teams that season and almost shut out a fifth.

2012 Alabama, in my opinion, was a more complete team than the 2011 squad was. The defense was still excellent and the offense was much improved at scoring points and moving the football.

I have to agree. The 2011 Defense was one of the all time greats like '92. But the 2012 team faced a bunch of great offenses and they got caught up in the HUNH craze which caused a lot of issues especially with officiating.

They had the lead very late in the game. Then they LSUed.
We "Third and Chavised" in the Prevent.

We warned "Cocky" Aggie, but they wouldn't listen........

LSU had Mett, OBJ, Landry, Hill, etc. and still could only score 17 points.
We also had Les Miles and his BBQ Buddy Cam Cameron..........
