List is so bad, no one wanted to claim they wrote it.

The mental gymnastics on how a team shouldn't have to play the best competition for the title game is just so satisfying.

If Bama was such a bad team why did it take a series of unlikely events to sneak away with a win and a crushing loss on a neutral field?

Anyways, gymnast away, I'll just be getting a beer and laughing.

21-0 First and only BCS team to be shut out in the championship game.

First and only 2nd place in division and 3rd place in conference team to be given do-over by the media and a faction of BCS Human Poll Voters and Coaches who made sure the more deserving 12-1 Conference Champion did not make it to the title game by voting them FIFTH OR SIXTH in the BCS.

And WHYYYY did they vote Okie State FIFTH OR SIXTH, when every other voter had them 2nd or 3rd (except Saban who had them 4th) ???
For TV ratings. Okie State didn't have 'the name' and wasn't 'glamorous' enough. Let's make a do-over and get more ratings!
According to the BCS, the team with the stronger SOS and higher votes would give them more points.

What is UNBELIEVABLE to me is that this was allowed. A handful of people who purposely voted the more deserving team THREE OR FOUR SPOTS LOWER than everyone else did - did in effect decide who would play in the NCG.

And no one did a thing about it.

I don't consider 2011 Mississippi State, Florida, and Auburn to be quality wins. Furthermore, 2013 Florida State at #2 makes this list even more of a joke. The national championship says more about their team than the regular season.

This explains it ALL.

You can debate whether Alabama belonged there, but you can't debate what happened.

The team with the "greatest season of all time" doesn't get slapped around like a helpless bitch in the championship game. Feel free to argue whether we deserved it, but the question of whether you did has been answered, and answered with an exclamation point.

It came down to Alabama vs Oklahoma State. On the field, who would you pick? I wasn't impressed with Oklahoma State's resume. Oklahoma State did not have a championship caliber defense. Why should the voters complete overlooks a loss to a team that barely obtained bowl eligibility?

They apparently left out the all-important "Games in which they couldn't finish a single drive across the 50" category.

Regular season.
The DID include the fact that LSU beat:
Oregon, West Virginia, Arkansas, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Florida.
LSU defeated three Top 3 teams and six Top 15 teams, and scored over 40 on SIX of them, outscsoring opponents 500-123.

And who did Alabama beat during the regular season again? NO ONE ????????

Metry, I do not believe that 2011 Alabama was the greatest season of all time. Therefore, Alabama's record or performance is irrelevant.

I am challenging the absurd notion that 2011 LSU had the greatest season of all time. IF the tigers had finished that remarkable season with a championship win, then I would agree it was the greatest. But I cannot ignore the last game in evaluating that season.

If Bama didn't deserve to be there then why'd you Tigers let them prove otherwise...?

That may be true, but the BCS system works on several criteria to arrive at a total.
How in HOLY HELL was Oklahoma State's SOS not taken into consideration?
How about their conference championship?

Here's how.
Oklahoma State, with a 12-1 record and a 4 touchdown beatdown of former #1 Oklahoma for the BIG 12 TITLE, and a MUCH stronger SOS, was somehow voted """"""" F I F T H """"""""" or
""""""""" S I X T H """"""" by some of the very same 'Human Poll Voters and Coaches' who were somehow given the privilege of voting.

And that was just plain despicable...

Even if LSU had won the national championship game, they still wouldn't be the greatest team of all time. There's no point in denying LSU's weaknesses at the quarterback position. Other teams before and after 2011 could have competed with and defeated 2011 LSU.

Despicable because why? Because you think OSU was the actual better team or despicable because Bama fricked your shite up and OSU wouldn't have?

Neither. Because the 'system' was a travesty.
We may have well lost to Oklahoma State. That's not the point.
The whole college football bowl landscape changed because of a few arrogant biased or perhaps just uninformed derriere oricices skewed the whole thing up.
My question. If they were to allow this "do-over" and have a team that was ALREADY DEFEATED by the other team into the NCG, then...........

"""""WHY EVEN PLAY AN SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME"""" ?

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Oh, really ?????
2011 LSU QB:
173 out of 279 for 2,135 yards (62%), 21 TDs,
FIVE interceptions, 147.5 rating

LSU scored 63 touchdowns that year (54 by the offense, 9 by defense and ST.) and 500 points, and rushed for nearly 3000 yards.

I don't think anyone said Bama was a bad team. In the end, the two best teams played for the championship and LSU shite the bed. However, you also can't deny that it took a series of unlikely events for Bama to even get in that game right?
