2005 Texas beat 2005 USC and crushed nearly every opponent they played. Only three teams came within 18 points of them during the season. '05 Texas was more dominant and a far more talented team. The game wouldn't even be that close. Now, '05 Texas vs. '08 Florida OTOH would be a great game.

Gotta say, if you want excitment, it is 01 Miami vs. 04 SC.
With that said, I take Little Nicky and 03 LSU vs. )4 SC. Those 2 defenses were absolutely sick.

think this would ever happen in an SEC championship game?

If Auburn hadn't let their foot off the accelerator in the 4th quarter, it might have been close. USCjr was pretty much at our mercy at that point.

The 2010 Auburn team is one of the weakest undefeated teams from a BCS conference in reccent history. They had way too many close games to be considered one of the great teams in college football history.

I realize football isn't math and the transitive property doesn't always fit, but let's examine the two losing BCS teams of 2005 and 2010.

Texas beat USC by three points and AU beat Oregon by the same 3 point spread.

So, who would you take in the consolation game, USC(2005) or Oregon(2010)? I believe USC would destroy Oregon, therefor, Texas would handily beat AU.

It would be a really good game i think..but i would hate to try and see who contains cam newton..orakpo could get to him, but i dont know if he could slow him down..We had a good secondary that year..so maybe we could blanket the receivers and put a spy on newton..but i doubt we could stop them many times..Now on the other hand..Our offense would run butt naked through that defense..we had one if not the best tight end in the country that year in dave thomas..and basically Vince was what cam was..so all in all, i think if we have the ball last, we win..If auburn has it last, they do..

I don't know why 2008 Florida receives so much love. They did lose a game...right? Were we all under a rock. That alone sets them back a bit. They didn't play particularly well in Glendale...Oklahoma handed UF gifts, and it was still a 10 point game.

In this decade...I got 01 Miami, 04 USC, and 05 Texas. Maybe the SEC teams seemed so beat up by the time they got to the end of the season? Not sure...those 3 teams just seemed more 'dominant'.

And to the OP...Texas by 10. Their secondaries would be the difference maker.

Texas has superior talent than 2010 Auburn. I think Texas would hav run away with it.
