#1 Alabama vs. #19 South Carolina Highlights

This game still makes me scratch my head. I could understand losing to LSU and Auburn that year, but this South Carolina game just doesn't make sense.

Alabama outdid them in almost every major statistical category and yet somehow managed to lose by two touchdowns. I think the key stat in the game, however, was the one statistical category Alabama did not outdo South Carolina in - rushing yards. Alabama gained just 36 yards on the ground, compared to South Carolina's 110-yard performance.

Alshon Jeffries who dropped a lot of passes at USC caught every fricking thing that day!

Garcia was allowed to drink a 12 pack pregame and another at half.

Willy B was rockin' like a mofo that day. One of my favorite games ever.

Garcia was on fire and Alshon was toying with the rookie DBs

Because Alabama failed to outdo South Carolina in the one major statistical category that counted the most: points scored. Does that really make you Gumps scratch your heads???

Yeah, it really does. South Carolina had just over 300 yards of offense and managed to score 35 points. That is an anomaly in the Nick Saban era.

Spurrier was one of the rare coaches that Bama and Saban had nothing to do with running off. We played Bama once during his tenure here and we beat them, while ranked #1, no less.

Now LSU may have had a little something to do with running Spurrier off. He seemed truly shellshocked after that loss. Monday after that loss, he was outta here.

Maybe the last truly great OBC game plan- to do that, to that team through the air with the hardest partying SEC QB since Rex, I mean just beautiful.

Don't forget points, chief.

The Garcia to Jeffrey TD in the 1st quarter was nasty AF. Still not sure how Garcia gets that ball off and not sacked.

My favorite play was when Alshon caught the ball while Dre Kirkpatrick was PI'ing him.

We were both wrong. We played y'all in 2005 (first time we played y'all with Spurrier as hbc) and y'all won. We then played again in 2010 and we won that game with Spurrier as coach. So he was 1-1 vs y'all while at SCar.

I wasn't there... but 2012 UGA has to be the most insane atmosphere I've ever witnessed. Second to that 2009 Ole Miss which was my senior year. Man I've never seen the student section so hyped, and I had a test the next day.

Yep..that was an amazing game and the atmosphere was electric. Damn place was literally shaking from everyone jumping up and down chanting "USC" during Sandstorm.

2009 Ole Miss

That was when they were ranked #4, right? And until we beat #1 Bama the following year, beating #4 Ole Miss was the highest ranked team we'd beaten at home, right? Garcia said the Ole Miss game was the loudest he'd ever heard it at Willy B during his entire time there.

We also played in 2009 in Bryant-Denny. It was the game that won Ingram the Heisman since he basically beat y'all all by himself.

I was driving through Columbia over the weekend and stopped to eat at a Maurice's, because that barbecue is the shite. There were two framed newspaper front pages hanging inside: one for the baseball NC that y'all won a few years ago, and one for the 2010 win over Alabama. So I'm guessing that must have been a pretty big deal for y'all.

Missing the 3 straight fades to Alshon game in Tuscaloosa in 2009.
