In honor of the life of the recent passed Alabama head coach Denis Franchione, I post this highlight video that I made over a decade ago. Rest in peace, coach!

A very much younger me was super stoked when we hired Franchione. I went and shook his hand at the first "Hey Coach" he ever did. I loved watching Tyler Watts run the option. I was crushed when Fran left for A&M and I took a lot of pleasure in watching him flounder there.

I was 13, verging on 14 when we hired Fran. 2001 and 2002 were the earliest years of my fandom. I look back on those years fondly regardless of the sanctions from the NCAA and the results on the field. Those were the years where I fell in love with Alabama Football and College Football as a whole.

Was there. Very cold. Remember passing the Bama equipment truck going through Laurel ms on thurs night. Surprisingly, one of the coldest games I’ve been to. Louisville and Southern Miss were playing in Hattiesburg that thursday and both were really good at the time. Busted arse to try get through Hattiesburg before it ended.

Doesn’t matter who lines up on that LSU sideline, Bama skullfricking LSU in Red Stick is a timeless tradition
