Households in any state do not make that much of a difference in a program.

Ahhhhh but they do. They really do. Local politics shapes college football.

For example, those B1G teams make more money than any college football programs thanks to their network. Yet Wincy has let their coach get stolen twice in a short period.

Why?

Because it is politically impossible for their AD to pay a coach $4 million plus a year in a Yankee liberal state like that. If they try then local politicians will be invited to step in to correct the "misplaced priorities" and soon Wincy is handcuffed on how it operates.

It has been a while since I lived in Louisiana, but back when I was there it certainly had a Blue State mentality. I know that for a while the Saints almost were lost because basically the voters didn't think a team created for entertainment needed a subsidy when so many teachers, firefighters, police officers and other state workers were underpaid.

In Texas there is none of that. If someone makes X amount of money they earned it period. The culture doesn't allow for second guessing if someone earned what they have. That allows us to pay more than anyone.

At the end of the day most major ADs are full of cash and could spend WAY more than they do. They hold back, when they hold back, because of politics.

So household income could very well matter if you have an entitled and poor population that doesn't like seeing other people be successful. I don't know if that is the case, but it could be and it would explain how ANY Tiger fan feels Les hasn't earned his money.

#1 Not that bad, it is just going to hurt our pocketbook when we steal another coach from you next offseason in retaliation.

In fact I think the Steele move was pre-emptive- no big Aggie booster is going to pay real money to steal an ex-Baylor coach not named Briles.

#2 You wish, your program isn't that significant today and will certainly be less significant by that time.

Now another Bama win on the other hand...

Stealing another? You have yet to steal one. Unless LSU refusing to overpay for a product deemed not worth the value is now "stealing".

If you guys do get Haley it will be because LSU allowed you to do so, much like Chavis.

But you should be OK with that since we own you.

That reminds me, I needed to update my signature.

No it really doesn't! The local economy helps with recruits and luring families but that is the only way it makes a difference. All the other stuff is just non sense.

You're an idiot. They were undefeated (fresh off beating Alabama) and ranked #3 in the country.

Fair enough. We will outbid you for one of your coaches if we lose again then.

I think after around six losses in a row it will be deemed "worth the value" for us to pay Les $7 million a year to mow our lawn rather than coach LSU football.

Because their AD department spends a lot more money on other sports than we do in the south.

Beating Texas is the ultimate SWC addiction. Trolling LSU doesn't even come close. You guys aren't their Superbowl as long as that university in Austin has a football team.

Neither UT nor A&M are the best football programs in the state of Texas. Maybe neither is the second best.

It just KILLS yall that we will spend that much money for just a little improvement when yall didn't think it was worth spending the same money to keep the SEC's best defensive coaching unit intact.

2014 Bama and ND fourth quarter offense would disagree.

I get that argument for facilitates, but football is the cash cow that pays the bills. Not paying coaches short term can cost you big longterm.

Using the B1G and any northern conference as an example is not helping your case. Northern schools spend more money on BBall, hockey, wrestling, and Lacrosse than we do, like way more. We don't even field some of the sports they have.

As far as Football being the cash cow, it usually is, but their other sports make a shite ton too esp hockey

I'm not sure you know how bidding works as there was no bidding war.

6 in a row?

Not unless Chavis somehow brought the LSU D with him.

There will be a rude awakening for the Aggies this year, takes more than scheme.

When we beat you next fall, I will bump this thread and laugh at you.
If we lose, I will never post here again.

Tigers lose by double digits at home, that is all.

'Chavis can only defend the run, and is terrible against the pass'
-LSU fans

So, who is your QB?
What is your offensive scheme?

The loss and melt will be amazing.
