Had Auburn not dropped 8 passes against UGA it would’ve come down to the 4th quarter.

Did that Georgia poster who advised us to relish their defense last Saturday ever show back up after that debacle of a thread he started?

They’re playing against different offenses with different rules

Back in 1992 defenders didn’t have to worry about targeting, they didn’t have to worry about defenseless receivers, etc.

It was alot scarier for a receiver to go over the middle in 1992, than it is in 2021. A QB tries a “fake slide” in 1992 and he gets decleated

Thanks, Bama fan.

How many passes did UGA WRs or TEs drop?

Why were Georgia fans saying this was a “Generational Defense”?

92 D had 4 First Team All Americans and 7 First Team All SEC.

So how does this year's Georgia D stack up to their 1980 NC squad? Did they even keep stats way back then?

Donnelly wasn't that bad because he was starting ahead of Tommy Johnson.

You do understand that you really can't compare them because offenses in 1992 and 2021 are vastly different?

In general, that's true. Fair enough.

But the flip side of that coin is that Bama '92 ABSOLUTELY DID face a team that had an exceptionally high powered offense that year. And they had a Heisman trophy winner at QB. Top receivers. Speed to burn. And look where that got Miami in the Sugar Bowl against the Bama defense.

The Bama '92 defense had the horses to run with any team of any era. Facty.

You’re pimping Gino Toretta like he was great. He’s possibly the worst Heisman winner every

Why stop there? Let’s go back farther in time. 1978 or 1979?

No Georgia player would have started on the Alabama team either?

Why because they had 300 players on the teams!

$$$$$

Alabama won it both years and both the 78 and 79 defenses were better than the 2021 Georgia.

They were better than any team since tittle nine was implemented.

Do you really think any team since then could compete against the football teams which held unlimited player rosters?

Thread is dumb.

1992 Miami was not that explosive offensively. They failed to score 20 pts. in 4/12 games. 2020 Alabama never scored fewer than 31 pts. in 13 games.

In a time machine game 2020 Alabama’s O would smoke the shite out of 1992 Alabama’s D. They would be overwhelmed athletically and schematically.

You'll have to ask anyone who said that. I saw other fan bases saying it and then wanting to laugh. Find who said it and then ask.

That's hat I would do.

Frankly, I'm surprised it didn't occur to you.

Not a single player for Georgia starts on the 92 Alabama defense.

After watching the SECCG, I agree with this statement. A couple of guys might have been in the rotation in the front 7.
