AU fully admitted to the NCAA that they were aware that Cecil asked MSU for money. That part was never in dispute and was part of AU’s defense. The public drew the logical conclusion that if Cecil asked MSU for 180k, he didn’t go to AU for free. I’d actually argue it is the opposite. Cam wanted to go to MSU to play for his old OC Dan Mullen, his Dad screwed that up for him, and he ends up at AU for free.

I still think this would have been a nonissue had a. Cam not gotten so good so quick and b. had Dan Mullen/Urban Meyer not been total hypocrites and blown the whistle.

Anthony Dixon's uncle got sloppy drunk on Cam's visit to Starkville and was basically running around screaming "frick Cam Newton. He suck. We are sicking with Chris Relf anyways..."
