We were blessed with a defensive slugfest that gave us 9-6. I honestly miss this type of game. Every play, every yard felt significant. Brad Wing was clutch in the field position battle. Eric Reid made a game saving INT. Bama missed 5 FG’s, granted, not all were gimmes.
We know what happened in the rematch.
One of a handful of games dubbed “Game of the Century”, and it lived up to the hype.

I was miserable that game sitting in the upper deck. Two things changed after that game for me. No more upper deck in Bryant Denny especially above the students, damn those suck. Another was have fun watching the game no matter what happens.

The tension in that game was insane.
Every yard mattered.
There have been plenty of hyped up "Games of the Century" but that truly was one.

And the atmosphere before the game. Thousands showed up without tickets just to be there. It was quite the day and night.

An amazing game. Seemed like every single snap was huge. Both defenses played with their hair on fire.
An all-time SEC game, and the type of game I wished SECN would show replays of (I know it was a CBS game vs. ESPN/ABC so it might not be possible).

Watch Kentucky football if you like low scoring. Unfortunately the other team won’t cooperate and insists on scoring more. Every yard for us is a struggle. Just like that game from 2011. You could say our offense set football back 13 years.

i had been in 2007 for the first time and met a great group of guys and their wives behind that bank on University Dr, a little bit down from that field where y'alls band assembles. went back in 2009 and partied with them. had tickets both years. went back in 2011 with no tickets, and ended up staying in that lot where this group of about 50 lsu fans had this huge projection screen.
it was really one of the most electric days\nights i've ever been a part of. of course when LSU made the kick in overtime the cheers and yells heard throughout the campus was absolutely insane.

I usually consider myself a 'keeper' of things like this, but for some reason I just cannot find it.
Does anyone remember the graphic that I believe an Alabama assistant coach put out a few years later, showing a screenshot of an offensive and defensive possession by each team, and it had the name of the player and the pro team they played for beside them?
I want to say there was a time during the game where both teams had nothing but NFL players facing nothing but NFL players on the field, twice — once on offense and once on defense.
(And if someone still has that, I'd love to see it again.)

The nba lockout was happening at that time and i remember seeing LeBron and several other players watching on the sideline. There was also a video showing a bunch of private jets queuing up to leave after the game.

That is the type of games I miss. This and the older Auburn games were just dog fights. Who's gonna make a mistake? Who's gonna fumble? Who throws an int. On the edge of your seats till the end. frick offense

That is absolutely my favorite game ever. That style of football was awesome.
Every play was potentially the game winner.
That game sparked Saban to change/update his Offensive approach, and very likely changed the trend of college football.

Difficult to call it the game of the century when we were 10 years into the 21st century
