Latest is that many of the kids are in the portal until they see who we hire. Some will leave, and some will even follow the PoS to Austin.
Also, whoever your new coach is could do as the PoS did and bring some with him plus work the portal as Jay Johnson did his first year at LSU.

As a native Texan, it's kind of sad to see that Longhorns are at the point of needing to kill Aggie momentum in order to have something to celebrate.

I'm honestly not being a dick here...but how old are you?

I mean, UT has tried to kill anything and everything aTm. They are the reason why aTm went to the SEC.

And I honestly don't get the pearl clutching over UT poaching Schloss - what the frick is to be expected? He and Del Conte are tight, UT is an incredible program, and they threw a shite-ton of money at him...is UT NOT supposed to go after an Aggie coach? Is an Aggie coach NOT supposed to listen/leave when getting a better offer?

It's a free-fricking-market...loyalty should not exist...do what is right for you and your family...always...it's a business.

"Transfer portal nonsense"? Never been a fan of the portal, but after this mess, a head coach giving one day's notice...at best....I have no problem with players transferring as they want. This HC knew what he was doing, when, & that he was taking his whole staff. He walked out on his team with minimal notice. Think how those players feel.

His decision.

I bet you weren’t asking about his family when he took your job.

I’m also a TCU alum, so wasn’t thrilled when he left us to go to y’all, but that’s how it works. Suck it up and move on.

This is very similar as to what happened to OU when Riley went to USC.
Can't recall how many entered the portal; four went to USC; two to South Carolina, one to Arkansas, and maybe one to Missouri.

Bob Stoops was named interim head coach and went on a recruiting trip to Tulsa with two assistants to speak with a group of commits and their parents. One of the assistant coaches visited a Tulsa high school recruit who then tweeted a picture of him with the OU assistant and said, "great visit; I have decided to commit to USC." A couple days later, the OU assistant was on a flight to LA to join Riley's staff again.

How about let us hire the new staff before you pronounce us dead?

Is it suprising that something like: losing a CWS when up 1-0, then head coach leaves 1 day after losing CWS to coach at your biggest in-state rival, in addition to your 11 best players now putting their name into the transfer portal? I don't think that's surprising for Aggies. It's on par for the course for them

Playing for a title is anything but par for the course for Aggy

I'm pretty sure a coaching change extends the portal for 30 days.

The ripple effect of coaching moves will move players through the portal in a piecemeal basis.

That gives the players time to find a landing spot.

Huh? We needed a new baseball coach no matter what. Schloss is one of the best and already worked with/friends with our AD, end of story. If any one of these things wasn't true (we didn't need a coach, aggy coach was so so or had no prior relationship with our AD) then this whole thing would be the BFD it is.

I'm sure Aggies will be just fine poaching someone else's coach, players, staff, whoever they can get.

We went through the same thing plus our recruiting class ... then, when PM was hired, they all decided to stay.

They had no problem "stealing" John Chavis, the Johnson boys, or coming after Aranda, they're just mad that it happened to them.

All of these unfounded rumors are them trying to justify that this is somehow different.

They really thought their baseball program was above that, especially from Texas, and it wasn't.
