Notre Dame, Miami, Indiana, and Clemson (as of now) are going to make them rethink the need for 12 teams in the playoffs real quick.

They don’t care. Those schools are getting paid. The networks are getting paid. ND is a lot better than the other three it appears.

Well, Vandy isn’t really a road game us.

I mean let's just look at the resumes:

H2H yes, bama squeaked by USC, Ole Miss beat them handily. However:

Bama losses: Vandy (bad), Oklahoma (bad), UT

Ole Miss Losses: Kentucky (bad), UF (bad), LSU

SC Losses: Ole Miss (bad), Bama, LSU (Ref BS)

Arguably, SC's low points are less low than Bama or Ole Miss... all 3 teams have wins vs top 10s (at the time) Bama and OM vs UGA, SC vs A&M...

Bottom line: Bama and Ole Miss' highs are higher than SC's, but their lows are lower than SC's... SC also on a heater win streak and potentially will beat #12 Clemson this weekend while Bama and OM play unranked teams.... All this put together, I think Carolina could jump both with another ranked win (would be 4 in a row) even if Bama and OM win (weak opponents this week and bad losses the week previous)

Prediction if all three win this weekend: Carolina jumps them, but none get in the playoff

The high points and head to head matchups are what the committee thus far has prioritized when teams have the same record. They would have ranked y’all above us this week instead of waiting to see if y’all beat Clemson to do it next week.

Fun part about all of this is the speculation and then getting to see the results... as they say, gotta play the games.

Re what they've focused on: I think it allows them leeway to say, "yeah that bama team lost to vandy and a shite arse oklahoma team, but look they beat UGA, they're clearly capable of greatness" and get away with playing favorites that way...

Basing rankings more on momentum or a 'what have you done for me lately' mindset (a la college basketball) I think would be the best for the fans in terms of getting the best matchups in the playoffs but Arizona State and Tulane don't draw eyes like Bama so.....

fake bcs week 14 gets it right again..

1-5 in order
6-12 same teams, slightly different order

13-16 same teams, slightly different order

The committee appears to be using the BCS or something comparable to get the teams in a general area.. and then they make small tweaks based on H2H or some other factor they feel is important

link: BCS Week 14

CFP Seedings:

Oregon (1)
Texas (3)
Miami FL (7)
Boise State (11)
Ohio State (2)
Penn State (4)
Notre Dame (5)
Georgia (6)
SMU (8)
Indiana (9)
Tennessee (10)
Arizona State (14)

12 Clemson
13 Alabama
15 S Carolina
16 Ole Miss

They value head to head too much for this

Tha fact that LSU is so ok to avoid Tulane speaks volumes about why you stink from both an academic (so bad) to athletics. Your admin want’s to cut corners.

Comical that LSU with all your resources have
No chance and little Tulane a school with a 100 year history that you refuse to play cause if money, had a shot. Do your fan’s have any dignity?

On a neutral field Vegas has Tulane as a 0.5 point favorite. So good.

If the Cocks win Saturday, they're in. Beamer has done a remarkable job this year, and has my vote as SEC COTY. Those kids play hard for him.

Carolina wins, they would've beaten a top 12 team on the road, and will get in. Bama and Ole Miss are done and will have no quality wins to save them. Like the Perry Como song, they'll be Home for the Holidays.

Relax. South Carolina wins, they get in, no matter what.

How?

Who fell out above them?

They beat a top 12 team on the road, Clemson drops, and Bama and Ole Miss play 2 unranked scrubs at home. I am aware that Carolina lost to both teams, but Bama laid an absolute egg last week, and Ole Miss didn't pass the eye candy test in Gainesville. Who, BTW, beat LSU handly. Did I mention Oklahoma was blown out at home by South Carolina? Just because you win, against an inferior opponent, doesn't mean a team behind you that's red hot, can jump up. Alabama and Ole Miss need to run up the score and hopefully Clemson wins. I'm telling you, South Carolina has a legitimate shot of getting in. Everyone wants an underdog, am I right? Here's the opportunity

Didn’t answer the question.

Who fell out above that let SC in?

Clemson isn’t in so beating them doesn’t get you a spot.

Which bracket team does SC replace?

I agree Beamer is coach of the year but if your last minute Bama loss on the road is a win, then your last minute home defense of Mizzou is a loss.
