If it comes up next year, it has to be approved by the majority of Convention Members. This is why Saban tried to backdoor the rule.

There is no "backdoor"....ALL rule changes, regardless of what year, have to be approved by the membership.
The proponents hung the safety issue on the proposed change just to get it considered this year instead of the usual 2 year cycle.
