Man what a waste. He and Derick Watson could have been special. Could not get their heads on straight and too many off the field issues with kids, posse, academics etc etc. He was ranked ahead of Reggie Bush coming out of high school by some. Summers and Bush were 1 and 2 at RB in all the industries it seemed. Summers did nothing of meaning while at SCar, at least Watson contributed a little.

I don't understand this. Recruiting class ranking is destiny. Just ask 98% of the idiots, opps I mean posters on here.
Yeah because this opinion list of 10 'busts' really prove that recruiting doesn't mean shite.

I saw that list and I don't think you can call some of those guys "busts". They produced on the field. Top 10 "What could have been..." list? Sure.

Summers was the best RB in HS I ever saw personally. When USC got him I thought, "Hell Yeah, here's another George Rodgers." I remember trying to calculate what I though his YPC was going to be since it was around 12 ypc in HS, He had too many kids too young and he couldn't stop smoking weed to save his life. He could've been one of the greats for sure. The single biggest bust at USC of all time, IMO.

Because he failed to live up to 5 star expectations in the SEC

I guess I should have read page two of the thread before responding to the OP. Great minds think alike ... looks like all Gamecock fans agree when it comes to meat.

Had a great game at UTk though. But what a waste. And I know the rest of the story. I saw him over the holidays as a matter of fact.

Who was the other DB we had (not BJ Scott) that fizzled and transferred or got transferred? I think because he couldn't get his dumbass to class and was a frickup or something like that. I don't remember if he was a 5* or 4* but he wasted a lot of talent.

Alonzo Lawrence. I think he was a 4* just because he did well against Julio in the AL/MS all star game. He was LD, transferred to Southern Miss but didn't stay there long.

I can't understand the criteria here. Eddie Williams seems like he would fit the mold

Ryan Perrilloux, QB

No Ryan Perriloux, No 2007 BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Same with Dyer.

Auburn and LSU say...PLEASE...more busts...

Summers was the one who came to mind for me, too. He and I were the same age, so I was excited as hell that we would be at Carolina at the same time.
